This is special. Last week, I noticed that the milk wasn't nearly as cold as it usually is, but I figured that someone had left it out before putting it back in. Yesterday, I definitely noticed that things weren't as cool as they were supposed to be. And, the freezer wasn't keeping things frozen. The fridge has been slowly failing – and its only 4 years old. I won't have a technician out before Thursday. I've already moved the refrigerator's contents to the freezer and the freezer's contents to the outside freezer. I've hard boiled the eggs to keep them from spoiling but the chicken and milk have gone bad. Hopefully, this is a fix, not a replace. Wyatt |

So the chicken and milk are out holding up liquor stores and hanging out on street corners? That kind of bad? |

In one week, a few years ago, we lost television, freezer, fridge, vacuum cleaner, kettle. I do hope you have better luck. |

Back in October, I had one leg of my 220 volt power supply blew (literally fused the surrounding earth into a glass ball the size of a golf ball.) It took out a stereo receiver and a inkjet printer by scrambling the BIOS on both of them. I still haven't received compensation from the power company over those, but things might get interesting if the refrigerator repair technician can tie in the failure of that appliance to that surge. I'm not sure that's even a possibility, but its a question that I'm going to ask. Wyatt |

Check inside the freezer, we had one that "iced up" and blocked air flow. 20 minutes with a hair dryer and we were back in business. |

Double what Saber6 said. A common cause of loss of refrigeration. |

Also try vacuumming out behind and beneath the frig. Hair and dust can interfere with the cooling coils. |

I vacuumed underneath the appliance and got some dust rhinos out of there. No internal freezing that I can tell this time around. Wyatt |

As Sue indicated, I find things fail in groups. |

I had to remove a panel to get to the coils. that is where the problem was. |

We had that happen in May. Everything went bad. It seems that a circuit blew and fused. It was about a $100 USD repair and the fridge and freezer are back up and working wonderfully. |

We had the ice up problem that Saber6 described. Repair or new one after that |

"I'm not sure that's even a possibility" Alert the technician, those things use chips these days. |
