Why do wargamers need painters tape, and is the dollar-store variety good enough?

…blows chunks!

Does anybody else use Excite email? I've been using it for almost a decade, as my eBay and PayPal related address, and a couple of weeks ago they decided to give us a "fabulous new whole life system." It's supposed to have a calendar, and events remider and a this and a that, oh, and email.

But it's some flash java horrible lovechild gone wrong. I can't access it in Opera or IE. It was working for a few days in Firefox, but then they fixed it so it wouldn't.

We've updated Opera and Firefox and Java, but that hasn't helped. Anybody else having these problems? Or know some way to fix them? Or have a phone number for the Excite tech goons, since their webform probably is instantly deleted (although it did say they sent an email to my Excite address – which I can't access!). Also, the manager@help.excite.com email address they said to contact bounces back as invalid!

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations, CPBIII. I've always used Hotmail and Yahoo for my e-mail needs, plus what my local cable provider offers. The last time I used Excite for anything, it was just before I first had a computer, which was back in 2000. I seem to remember it was host to a web forum, or something like that.

Maybe it's just me, but whenever a service touts a "new and improved" feature, it just seems like another way to showcase an anonymous computer nerd's complicated idea that's he believes will revolutionize the world of the Internet. At least, that how I perceive it. Anyway, if I can find a phone number or something, I'll post it here. I'm sure other TMPers will be able to help, too. Good luck, CPBIII!

I'm liking gmail though I don't like how chat threads are divided up …
