My first exposure to wargames other than the airfix figures, was this game that my cousins had. I don't remember too much about it, except that it was extremely fun to play. It was an acw game that had flat plastic pieces, with a little nub in the center so that they could be stacked. The infantry was a rectangle, and the cavalry was a triangle. They were appopriately colored blue and grey. That's about all I can remember as it was over 40 years ago. Any thoughts? |

Parker Brothers 1863. Likewise my first board wargame. I recall many happy games with my Dad back when I was in short pants. I still have the remains of the set! Played completely to ruins, of course. |

Originally published in Life magazine with cut out pieces. I had both. Drat, I'm getting old. |
