I've received this twice today at work on our generic account (library at state dot texas) Mousing over the link showed that it did not go to the IRS (big suprise there!) Note the timeliness of this one – you must respond before 5/1/2008. Hope no one out there bites on this.

IRS fraud unit was made aware of this. Hope they catch these people, but they are probably offshore and out of reach.

Over 130 million Americans will receive refunds as
part of President Bush program to jumpstart the economy.

Our records indicate that you are qualified to receive the
2008 Economic Stimulus Refund.

The fastest and easiest way to receive your refund is by
direct deposit to your checking/savings account.

Please click on the link and fill out the form and submit
before May 01th, 2008 to ensure that your refund will be
processed as soon as possible.

Submitting your form on May 01th, 2008 or later means that
your refund will be delayed due to the volume of requests we

Usually well out of reach of the authorities.

I had a similar one in my junk account this morning. I forwarded it to the IRS Phishing & Fraud unit, not sure if they will do anything with it though.
