Somehow, when the game companies said that they want more girls to get involved in videogaming, I don't think this is what they had in mind. A British company that makes temporary stripper poles for home use is planning on making a video game utilizing the Wii's motion sensing capabilities. link Wyatt |

"Peekaboo and its partners are focused on using Wii-friendly hardware to make aerobic pole dancing instantly accessible just as 'Guitar Hero' did for rock'n'roll." Glad I was not drinking when I read that. LLC aka Ron |

This will come in handy during my new exercise routine. And I'll be learning a valuable new job skill. What could be better? |

I am having trouble understanding the Wii concept? So instead of actually doing a sport or other activity, you can play a video game that simulates the physical activity, but in order to simulate it you have to actually do the motions that you would do if you were actually doing the activity instead of playing a video game? Is that basically it? So why do I need the video console again? |

Pole dancing on the Wii sounds silly. But the Wii is fun -- by swinging at a tennis ball, you don't have to learn odd key combos to hit the ball. I can have a good game of Wii tennis against my 5 yo daughter. Also for those of us in cold and wet climates it is nicer to be able to play a game inside, rather than outside. I play real sport (hockey) but playing on the Wii is fun and convenient. And you quite quickly get into a new 'sport' as the basic learning curve is shallow, but some of the games (like Wii tennis) do have quite a bit of depth. If you are a hard-core console gamer then the Wii won't have much for you. But if you want some family fun then its great. |

Dervel, it's not just for sports games. Think about all those 1st person video games that are hack & slash, or shoot'em ups. Apart from machine gun controls, the traditional joystick or the keyboard don't really have the feel. With the Wii, you can actually backstab those guards instead of abstractly fidling around with buttons. |

Odd. Very odd. But then, I still play with toy soldiers, so what do I know? |

"
This isn't for the typical gamer audience." Well, not directly, anyway. Still, I suspect this will generate SOME entertainment for the "typical gamer." |

Now this sounds like something that has to be seen to be believed. I would definitely check this out if it were available for the Wii! I have one and my kids and I love it. Yes, there are those who "just don't get the Wii" when it comes to actually having to do the motions. But, out here in Montana, where golf is a summer and seasonal activity only, I get to have some fun playing virtual golf. ditto with tennis. I enjoy the bowling as I don't have to go to the dingy run down bowling alleys which are 20 + miles away. And this would be just hiliarious to do with friends after a good gaming tournament – see which gamer can do the best dance routine! LOL – can't you just imagine seeing the OFM trying to do a routine on this? C'mon now, I don't care who you are – that's funny! |

Sadly, if this wan introduced into my home, the wifely unit would spend more tim eimulating pole dancing than actually trying it in our bedrooom
And what the H E double Hockey stiks does "temporary Go Go Pole" mean? Either you install it, or you move on

I think it is a more interesting concept than pii pii brothers link That is just darn creepy. I also cannot imagine my gaming group doing pole dancing for each other's amusement – especially since we are all married. |
