auction
My one man mission to re-float the US economy starts next week so I've been browsing Ebay for some good deals to spend dollars on. I found one seller that has a load of Battletech stuff for auction but the descriptions include this wonderful line "t is a recent 100% Lead reproduction of OOP minis from the 1980's."

!!!!

well, as long as it's 100% lead I guess that's ok…

Also I guess if it is a reproduction and not a recast that is fine too. I wonder how long that will stay up?

Looking at this sellers feedback it looks like this isn't the first time that he has done this. I wonder how he has been able to keep doing this without somebody shutting him down.

Because eBay only takes complaints from the copyright holder? Who is that, in the case of Battletech? They'd have to complain.

Either that or Harmony Gold or whatever group sued (or threatened to) Fasa over the licensing issues that led to them becoming unseen mechs.

That;s pretty much how I figured it out. I could almost soothe my guilt over buying them but there are limits. And I've just looked in my unmade mechs drawer and found a Marauder II still in the blue card blister.

Wow – posting copyright violations right out in the open on the net – any bets on how long it takes before this guy gets the cease and desist followed by the service of process dragging him into court? I'm betting about two or three weeks from now.

Interesting. Apparently "Buy It Now" is the way to go when you're a pirate caster, eh?

100% Lead? That'll make for some fun for the buyers. The professionals use *alloys* for several very good reasons…
