I dont know how this came up in conversation the other day but it did. When I was much younger (in my teens) in the late 70s, My step-father had a huge game of the Russian Front, it had HEXAGONAL pieces. Units were an astonishing array of colors, specialties and nationalities. I think pieces were sometimes divisional, I distinctly remember a pink Slovakian security unit. (Partisans usually got him if alone) The board was huge (not Case Blue huge but big enough) and featured at least 3 shades of green (Light forest, heavy forest) and a myriad of other colors. Ive never seen this game since then, and a google search produced nothing
So I ask you fellow TMPers What was this wargame ? |

The game is "East Front" by The Control Box, Inc. copyright 1976. Had to check my copy as I remembered the hexagonal counters but not all the colors, but they are there. I have a mint, unpunched copy, wonder what that is worth! |

Great thanks Marc
I would have never remembered that one. I would have no clue as to its value
It wasnt that well known in it's time, but it is certainly a collectible..Ebay didnt have an entry but more specialized gaming auction sites might. You arent in the Greater Seattle area are you ? |

While stationed in the Northwest during part of my active duty (Oregon) and having fond memories of Seattle (great wargame store there) alas I am now retired and back in my home state of Florida (Tampa area). My game collection is now somewhere over 1,000 wargames so quite the reference library! |
