Just for a check-up and teeth cleaning… I brush twice a day, but it's been maybe 6 or 7 years since I've gone to a dentist.

I'm a little worried about what he might tell me. I haven't had any specific problems (none at all, really), but it's been a looooong time, so who knows what he might tell me?

Wish me luck!

Me too! I have an appointment because the amalgam of one my dental fillings broke yesterday and I have a big hole in one of my molars!

Damm it! Last time the dentist reconstructed all the tooth and I paid 300 euros for the job… At least, my dentist is a real nice girl who knows how to do a good job.

My favorite dentist moved to the other side of the continent :-( A very nicely upholstered lady.

Hope he is a good one. Deep gum cleanings and cavities are easy things for a crooked dentist to 'fake' as that any evidence that you needed a cleaning or a filling are erased by the procedure. Most people don't think of this, but you can alwasy get another opinion for any dental work that is recommended (The fact that it usually means waiting months to get in to see another dentist makes this hard I know).

I like mine. I get my teeth cleaned twice yearly and have only had one cavity in 15 years. I guess if you find a good one it isn't so bad.

Good luck (shudder).

Good luck. I'm going to be going soon too. A filling fell out during dinner tonight, so like basileus, I have a hole in my molar. The original filling came out about a month ago, and the dentist I went to then said since it was clean she could just do a simple (temporary) repair. I had my doubts at the time, and now they are confirmed.

Just got back from my 6 month checkup!

No cavities, but my gums are a bit tender.

For some reason, he keeps asking "Is it safe?"

And off I go!

*fingers crossed*
