Not exactly, but if nothing else turns up, see if you can get a copy of Fighting Turks in the Balkans by A. D. Howden Smith. Smith was an American newspaper reporter who went with a band of Bulgarian guerillas (chetas) across the Bulgarian/Turkish border to raid the Turks in 1907. The Bulgarians made it quite clear to him they didn't drag around a bunch of dead weight, so he carried a rifle, marched and fought beside the Bulgarians. The book contains photos (from 1907, not 1912, no idea how fashions might have changed in the interim). It is also the best account of guerilla warfare as seen from the guerilla side I've ever read.
Totally off topic, but some years later, Smith wrote a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, called Porto Bello Gold, which is not a bad read, and in fact, is still in print.
