I notice I'm getting a lot (something like 20% of the total) of auction winners who live in Spain the last few months. Is their currency booming vs. the US dollar (more so than everyone else's, that is) or is it something else? I know a lot of sellers won't ship to Spain or Italy because of postage woes…am I just getting a lot of business from there because I'm willing to take the chance?

Or maybe there's a Spanish wargaming boom going on?

Spain uses the Euro, and the exchange rate undoubtedly has more to do with it:

Hundvig,

Probably is the euro. We have a good exchange ratio.

By the way, our post is very, very expensive when sending things out of the country, but reasonably good when receiving packages. So far I never lost a package shipped to me. Hope it helds!

Interesting. I didn't realize that mail was (or even could be) cheaper coming into a country than going out…and of course the Euro is pretty high right now, isn't it?

I've actually found shipping to Spain pretty fast, about the same as most of Europe (except Italy and Switzerland).

The Euro is terribly high now. That's nice for buying things from you in the USA or from the British that still use the Sterling Pound.

But if you try to sell something -and I tried!- makes it impossible.

Definitely a seller's market for US/UK citizens on ebay right now, even with the rate hikes. OTOH, it's a good time for those on the Euro to pick stuff up cheap to trade with, or to sell later when (or should I say if?) the dollar gets stronger.

Never had issues shipping to Spain. Italy however……..
