Printing Scenario Maps with Poster Software

You've got a scenario map, and you need to create some hills. Is there some way to just print out the map in very large scale, so you can trace the outline of the hills you need to build? The Editor finds out...

Does anyone know a cheap source for modest quantities (10 to 20) of very small cardboard boxes suitable for shipping minis? I need ones that are only 3 to 5" on a side. The purpose is shipping small quantities of miniatures, just a couple at a time quite often.

I've checked at Office Depot, but their smallest boxes are mayb 6" square, rather too big.

Thanks!!

Comics and card shops. Ask for the smallest cardboard Magic boxes they carry.

Go to uline, they have some good ones. Or if you don't need that many and you are going to cold wars I have a bunch that I could sell you.

Assuming that you're shipping via USPS Priority, go with these guys, they're free link

A little bubblewrap around the wrapped miniatures and you won't have any problems with them sliding. Stuff a couple of paper towels in there if you're still paranoid. Only $4.60 USD to ship.

Wyatt, are you able to find them? Our local USPS offices have been out of them for two years. I thought they had been discontinued!

Scomac:

Those are ONLY available by ordering them online. POs have been out of them for 18+ months but they have always been available to the public…go figure.

Even if you order online they are still free..no shipping even!

Go to USPS.com and they will ship you bundles for free.
I just got some a few days ago.

I'd suggest cutting up some GW unit boxes and making your own. ;)

Cheapest source is to buy them in bulk from a company that specializes in shipping. I get books from several but I used Browncor until they got bought out earlier this year. They may still have a website.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great advice. I've just ordered some of those USPS priority boxes, and I think I'll buy some even smaller boxes from Uline too.

Thanks!!

Wyatt & Mark beat me to the punch. I also ordered some of the new boxes (including the 12x12x5.5 inch flat rate boxes).

packagingsupplies.com is worth a look too.

Yes, the smaller card boxes (Usually $.40 USD each) are the way to go for loose lots, I wish I could find a wholesale supplier to buy a bundle of 100. Well, maybe not, I only use a couple a month, but my (Un)FLGS can't be bothered to keep stock of them on hand, and he is (Mostly?) a card store.

U-Line is the way to go, I bought a bundle (100) of the S-11234 (5x7x2) last year, and they are almost gone. Of course, there are a bunch full of little bits and projects floating around the house. I ought them because I could ship the standard (older) miniature blisteers (Up to four) and some Die Cast in them. The other, smaller sizes I bouthg are languishing, at least 50+ of each, I must have $200 USD worth of packaging supplies in my shipping area.

If you are only invoicing $4.60 USD for priotity, you are losing money. PayPal calculates on the TOTAL invoice (Including P&H), plus figure at least two pages of printing (Packing Slip and Mailing Label); OK, sometimes you can write the address on the box and pocket the whole $.15; Until you have to print out your end of the month sales report…..

AARGH- yes, those boxes are the perfect size for a painted 15mm DBA Army.

And don't get any too small boxes, my local PO is asking (And after the next fee increase, will probably charge extra) anything less than 3x5; It's all handled by machinery and OCR these days.

And keep in mind the container store is a good place for last minute – "need to find an odd box size" –

a bi pricey, but they have a lot of sizes and it saves me time.
