'Ever seen a Rabbit with glasses :o)' No, but at least they have the ears for it, a slug would disolve a pair of bins. |

Of all the things I was told "I would go blind"for doing painting figures was the last activity I would have guessed at
. I don't know what costs more for these days, the figures or the spectacles. |

The opposite for me. Even with over 40 eyesight, I find 6mm easier to paint to an acceptable standard than 25s. (Acceptable to me obviously) Perhaps this is because my eyesight is too far gone to see detail on the 6mm and know what a bad job I've done, but not far enough gone to hide my rubbish painting on 25/8s. |

40 last year. 18mm are an issue when I've been doing 28mm for any amount of time but I soon adjust. I'm short sighted which is a bonus IMHO for figure painting as my optician says I have an unusually good close focus. As Geoff wrote get decent light. I use 2 anglepoises and would happily add a third if there was space for it. Aim to avoid any shadow areas so use multiple lights not just one. |

50 YO here. I find all it does is speed up my painting. Not nearly as fussy now that I can't see it anyway. I've painted my last eyeball |

54 now and painting smaller details (on 28's) was becoming more difficult every day. Had Lasik surgery two years ago ( painless and it only takes a few minutes) and I can absolutely recommend it. Used to need 3.75 glasses and now 0.50 is more than sufficient for even the smallest details. |
