Well, I've recently joined the ranks of those who've had enough of eBay. The problem is, what alternatives are there? I have a bunch of action figures, rpg books, miniatures, cards, and other items that are now just collecting dust. What other auction sites are out there and is it worth putting stuff on any of them? If auction sites are no good are there any forums or web sites that I can use to sell stuff off?

You can try barter town or use the market place here as well.

….and of course there is wargames marketplace

You might take a look at Amazon auctions and see what 's shaking there.

I've had a quick look through those. Registered with totalbids, and may have a look at cquot too.

The problem is, there doesn't appear to be as much through traffic…… BUT, it's a catch 22 situation isn't it?

Writing out an advert on a piece of paper
Putting it in an envelope.
Addressing and stamping the envelope. Don't forget to include remittance for said advert- probably about a tenner.
Walk down to the post office and post letter.
Wait till relevant magazine comes out.
Wait for phone calls…and prepare to give a detailed description of you item…several times.
Wait for cheque in post
Hope it doesn't bounce as you'll never see your lovingly painted figures ever again.

Ah- the good old days.

Whatever we say about eBay- and there's been a lot said lately- it's been an absolute godsend for folk like us.
Reach a potential market of millions for a few pence. And with photos to boot. And with insurance against 'dodgy dealers'.

There are no other viable alternatives at present- if there was one I'd use it.
I think the best market at the moment outside ebay is the For Sale section on Amazon.
THe GF made a few quid on there a couple of weeks back selling old science manuals.
Decide on what you think is a fair, competitive price for your stuff and give it a try.

I'm kinda trying out Specialist Auctions. Got GW's WFB novel "Storm Warriors" on there, but still no bites…

I have listed an item on Wargames market today, but cannot see any bids on any of the items listed. Has anyone else tried listing on that site and if so have you had any luck with bids or in fact selling any items?
