Apparently, somebody thinks so.

I just got an email form PayPal telling me that "Your PayPal password was locked on 17/02/08! Please click on the link below to clear it!"

Notice the date format…

Someone in Zambia is quite disappointed in you --

BravoX18 Feb 2008 8:02 p.m. PST

Date format looks fine to me, same as it appears on TMP (DMY) :)

jizbrand18 Feb 2008 8:04 p.m. PST

Yeah, that's non-American-style dating: day/month/year. So, February 17, 2008.

Look fine to me. The U.S. military has alot of strange date formatings. For example, DDMMMYY (17FEB08) or YYYYMMDD (20080217)or could be DDTTTTMMYY 1718450208. You realy have to pay attention to the forms and documents to figure out what date formate is proper, there are quite a few. Mabey its just the formate they like at paypal.

The format is not NORMAL American date formatting, which is my point.

You continue to disappoint Dr. Ingweqwe. All that hard work and effort to finally rise to the top of the Nigerian Oil Ministry and you disrespect his efforts due to a mere difference in date formatting.

17/02/08 my 53rd birhday!!! we always do our date that way over here…I get quite confused by American dates

GarrisonMiniatures19 Feb 2008 12:26 a.m. PST

I'm getting 4-5 phishing messages a week telling me my Paypal account has been partially frozen, etc, but the idiots sending them out still haven't changed the copyright year from 1999-2007 to 1999-2008.

Incidentally, please don't anyone ever send me an e-mail to Garrison with Paypal in the subject line. My spam filter automatically forwards it to spoof@paypal.com.

That date format discussion is why I prefer our Canadian military dating format over all others.

17 Feb 2008 (sometimes shortened to 17 Feb 08) is pretty clear and hard to misinterpret.

@Garrison

So if I sent you an email headed "Can I pay you with paypal?" or "Do you accept paypal?" you'd never see it?
