I took one look at a class and considered just skipping it and going straight to the ER to have my rotator cuff put back together……

I use them. I like them. Start with a lower weight than you think you are comfortable with. Taking the class is a good idea so you can learn the basics, then you can figure out the other exercises on your own. Not to mention you can try several weights to figure out which one is for you. Using them will help your overall strength, aerobic fitness and flexibility.

There are cheaper places to buy KB than Pavel's business. I got my 56lb KB from a place in Dallas that I found online. His videos and books are probably the best available.

I've used them. They do seem to use different muscles and different areas of muscles. I'm not much of a weights guy, but they do work. I'd use them as an alternative rather than a sole workout.
