After 33 years, I once again have a wargaming table of my own! We recently got a new manufactured home in which I insisted on having a "den" large enough to hold at least a 4'x8' table. I wound up with a "den" of about 10'x25' (plus a closet) by taking out the walls between 2 bedrooms. I got 6 30" high, 28" wide, 12" deep bookcases and arranged them in 2 parallel lines to support 4 2'x4' pieces of 3/4" birch plywood. So, voila', a 4'x8' table! (And the bookcases hold my miniatures, terrain, etc., as well as some boardgames.) To cover the table I have a gray-green cloth (something like denim) as well as a big piece of leftover carpet (golden brown). I have pictures, but nowhere to post them. |

Congrats, Don. I am happy for you. Enjoy. Does this mean that you will never again drive on I-10, nor come over the mountains to Palm Springs when the next mega game is on? Regards, SCOTT |

Scott: I never have been to a wargame in Palm Springs, so possibly you're confusing me with someone else. But, when's the next game? |

photos now up on photobucket (thanks for the tip, wrgmer1!). Look for kingpin543. I'll put up some shots of my 15mm Naps soon (but it takes quite awhile to upload photos, even tho I have DSL). |

2 pics of a few of my 15mm Naps (Waterloo armies) are now up on photobucket (kingpin543): the command stand for the French II Corps (Reille) and the "entire" III Cavalry Corps, the latter represented by the 11th Cuirassiers (who wore no cuirasses at Waterloo) and the 1st Carabiniers. Reille and the Cuirassiers are old Heritage figures; Reille's aide is a Naismith figure; the Carabiniers are a mix of the current (3rd series) Minifigs and a few old sample Hinchliffe's I've had for years, as is the command figure in front of the Cav Corps. Only the two command stands have been "flocked" using my current technique, which involves acrylic "flocking gel" from Renaissance Ink plus some sand, pebbles, etc, and paint. |

No, Don, no confusion. I was just wondering that now that you have your own table, would you be interested in driving over to PS area for next mega event?
whenever Rick puts on another big blast
you are, after all, pretty darn close. |

Scott: Interested? yes. Can't guarantee I'd go, but I'd sure consider it. When? Where? and playing what? |
