Greetings, Have been wanting to try my hand at some DTP modern wargame designs and geopolitical type games for a while now, and am mainly curious what types of software are out there for designing maps? I have experience with CC2 and the expansions, but simply have not used them in ages. Would be interested in a more traditional map look, but just don't know what is out there
. Thanks, Paul |

Imagine Image (in the mfg's directory) has a program called game mapper which I like a lot. You can make classic looking boargame boards with it or more complex stuff as well. I am not particularly computer savvy and I was able to use it easily. |

Would a standard photo-editing program not do the trick ? I had pretty good luck making a Squad Leader board in Corel Photo-Paint. I drew hexes on one layer then designed the map underneath. With the hexes there from the start, it's easier to position roads, buildings, etc. By scanning the original boards, I could match the colours very closely. Could also determine appropriate width of roads, building size etc. |

HPS's "Aide de Camp" works quite well for hex-grid mapboards and counters. It does have a steep learning curve however. |
