I've received a fair number of ebay scamspams before, but this one is a new one on me. An e-bay member contacted me through e-bay asking if I'd sent him an offer to buy the Forgeworld Stormblade auction immediately because I "needed to sell it immediately."

It looks like someone was trolling the list of bidders on that item and sending out false offers.

I've since posted a notice about it at the bottom of my auction, but I'm wondering if I'm going to have to include notices about not sending out messages like that (and not ending auctions early either) to all my future auctions.

Sheesh.

So this person created a nearly identical ID and then approached the bidders? The offer wouldn't be believable otherwise. Can't say that I've heard that one before. You should let Ebay know about it.

It apparently came via e-mail and just referenced my auction. I told him to forward it to the spoof at ebay address so everyone's cool.

The best scam I had recently was when a friend sold his Warhound Titan on eBay. I bid on it but the auction was won by someone else. That same day I got a E-mail from some jerk-hole claiming to be Him asking if I would buy it cause the winner defaulted. The best part was the e-mail came from England and we both live in Wisconsin. So I turned the Email over to eBay.
