A homoerotic guide to grammar? Used to be one of the pillars of a good public school education, along with a good thrashing, regular debagging of the new boys and a good fagging system. |

No, because the "H" is sounded. To say "an Homeric" sounds like you are being interviewed for butler school. We do not say "Give me an hot dog." or "There is an hotel in Chicago." If the "H" were not sounded, as in "He is an honorable man.", then I would agree. |

So what is wrong with being a butler?, furthermore, isn't that "Please may I have a hotdog?", ahh, caught myself out there, 'a hotdog', oh well, teaches me for trying to teach the OFM a lesson! |
