I've got a four page family history (handwritten in Polish)that I'm trying to get translated. I'm sending a copy off to a Polish geneology society to see what they come up with. Any other takers?

I got a number of books from Poland in a trade. Iwent out and got a Pol-Eng dictionary to help me out.

Good that you are talking quick action. My family had a letter from a German POW to my wounded uncle shortly after WW2. He had been an orderly in the hospital. It was over 50 years before we got someone to translate it for my Grandmother.

You could check with a local University. I know mine had a very good Polish language department.

Try Alta vista's Babelfish – that and other translation software exists on the net that is either free shareware, or available for a free download of a trial version.

I already tried the local colleges and universities--no help there.

Monkey Hanger--I don't think I have a scanner, so I don't know how I could email it to you. I will check with my wife when she gets back in town.

Boguslaw--I'll send you an email.
