There is a thread over at the forum of doom concerning copies/cast customizations of Heresy and GW figures in Australia. Here is the link: link

Does anybody here know the differences between Australian and UK copyright laws he's referring to?

Anybody of Eureka miniatures on the list by any chance? Since the are from Australia and work together with an UK firm they might know.

The Heresy owner should feel free to PM me. I may be able to assist or refer him to someone who can do so locally. I know some very good copyright lawyers in Oz and the UK.

Looks like Australian copyright law is the same as international standard

The 'our Australian law is different from British law' gives away the chap does not know what he is talking about. With global trade, world wide copyright laws have been introduced and there are only a few holdouts.

Australia has a good legal system, so if wanted these people could be pursued.

We have chatted about this in the past.

Thanks for the replies. I've posted a link to this thread over at the forum of Doom. I hope Heresy (or any other company) is not going to have this problem again.

Oh there will always be these people. The important thing is to let people know that

a) You cannot copy other peoples figures (no not even if you are not making money from it).
b) You will be pursued by the hobby for doing so.

I salute all those who helped put some pressure on this pirate.
