I am having a new bathroom fitted.

I decided to tile the bathroom myself. It looked easy and I don't like paying the rates charged by "professional" tilers.
I have tiled above the bath to within two feet of the ceiling, now I am stuck.
How do I tile up to the ceiling?
The bath is in the corner so I cannot put a platform over the bath.
I am quite heavy, so resting so form of support on the bath may lead to breaking the bath.

Any suggestions?

I take it your problem is you can't reach that high?

End it with a bullnose and dont go all the way to the ceiling.

Put strong planking over the bath to distribute your weight to the edges and give you a solid plaform to work on?

Thank you,

Extra crispy, yep, that is the problem.

DungeonTrader, it is a thought, but I will then either have to paint it or wallpaper it.

Whatisitgood4atwork, I think that might be the answer.

Any more ideas welcome.

Unless you've had the tremendous good fortune (or planned) to have it come out with the topmost row of tiles fitting perfectly without needing to trim them, I'd strongly consider the bullnose idea. Fiddling around trying to get a good fit is no fun, even without worrying about reach and support problems.

Best wishes,

don't go all the way to the ceiling – most end with bullnose as indicated by another poster. Use good epoxy paint for that last bit of the ceiling to ensure decent waterproofing.
