Has anyone used this one? guttersense.com I really want to clean the gutters on the second floor, but to be honest, do not want to climb a ladder to do so (to be blunt, I'm heavy and ladders built for my weight range are very expensive). My younger brother makes it here about once a year and I can hit him up for a deep, thorough cleaning (hey, he's only 24 and very agile compared to me, plus I always treat him to beer and food for his labors). But, the rest of the year I'd like to do some additional cleaning to keep things flowing better. If you haven't used the Gutter Sense toold, have you ever used a tool suitable for using from the ground to clean a second floor gutter? |

Looks pretty cool. I have never seen this before and don't know anyone that has. I might take a chance and buy it. I'm afraid of heights and my gutters are 20 feet up. |

If they aren't too full of goopy leaves in the bottom, it might work. After you get them clean, you need to install some gutter guard type stuff. |

I was looking for six months for a product that would clean my gutters. They are about 25-30 feet high and constantly fill up with needles and leaves. The eave is far from the house and I get a bit green on high ladders. The wife won't let me up tall ladders anyway. I never could find anything satisfactory so I just ended up hiring a gutter installer to clean them. I always wondered if he even bothered. I'd give these a try now. Let me know how it goes. |

Confused? Without climbing a ladder, how does it actually get to the gutters? |

At that price what do you have to lose? Probably the tongs part only works right some of the time
but I bet if you just left the tongs open and used it as a scoop on a pole, it would do a better job than you're doing right now. Wear clothes you don't mind getting gunky, as you'll be standing under it some of the time. |

I've got one that looks like a "J" with the bottom not as angled (kind of 45 degree). It works ok on leaves but to get pine needles and those little cones out a gloved hand works better. Granted I live in a ranch and just haul out the ladder. If I didn't want to go high up to do it (used to live in old 2 story farm house) I'd get some kind of gutter cover thing. Depending on how often it gets gunked up they may be well worth the cost . Here I do it at least once in the spring, 2-3 times in the fall, and once in the summer. Those grabbers on there don't look like they'd get all the bottom goo and not seeing the suports how often will you be grabbing only to find as you pull up that the support is now in the way? |
