Congratulations. A young one is a blessing in the household. Late nights notwithstanding, said the father with the 14-month-old with an earache. |

Mazel tov, congratulations. Will the boy speak Magaglog or Tagyar? I have a mixed background: Chinese, Black, Anglo slave-owner, Latino, American and Asian Indian and a dash of Irish for good measure. I used to joke my sister when we were kids that we'd open a soul-food restaurant with chitlin chow mein on the menu. These days it would be called fusion. When I tell folks my background in Hawaii, they ask, "That's all?" |
