Very nice. That is a load of figures – both mounted and dismounted – from one box. The bearskin will come in very handy for conversions too. Great news, Dean

Looking good. Are the actual number of different torsos listed somewhere. The announcements that they are in the correct ratio, but I would like to know the number to be absolutely clear.

Cheers

Very very nice :)

ArchiducCharles18 Mar 2010 9:21 a.m. PST

Yes, that's a very useful (and beautiful) kit.

TheMasterworkGuild18 Mar 2010 9:30 a.m. PST

I think separate boxed sets for mounted and unmounted would have been more useful!

For you. The packing is perfect… for me.

JCBJCB18 Mar 2010 10:04 a.m. PST

Ditto. Folks can use the mounted troops for a unit, and use the dismounted for SDS, or some other skirmish set.

I'd have had no interest in a dismounted set at all, and I happen to like the "extras" in this one.

An outstanding product!

Phil Walling18 Mar 2010 10:09 a.m. PST

Lovely figures… but I wish they made Space Marines…

mweaver18 Mar 2010 10:42 a.m. PST

That is a handsome set of figures. And a great value for the money.

Atheling18 Mar 2010 11:14 a.m. PST

Really beautifully sculpted (and painted!) mini's.

I'm still gagging at the bit for the latest Wars of the Roses releases- though I certainly appreciate the quality of this product.

Darrell.

Gorgeous figures once again from the Perry's. I want a box of these.

I wish they had done a couple of casualties in dragoons uniform to give a bit of variety of casualties compared to the French Heavy Cavalry box. But that is just a minor quibble.

Looks like Triples could get expensive!

Cheers

James

Very good (again) and good value too. Already pre-ordered a box. Now waiting for the hussars…

but I wish they made Space Marines…

They did at one point, IIRC, for some small little known company, but then they moved on with their lives.

Willtij18 Mar 2010 1:24 p.m. PST

For me this is a perfect combination of mounted and dismounted with the casualties being a nice bonus. Excellent!

Dutch50818 Mar 2010 1:58 p.m. PST

Man…I still have three (four) boxes of Scots convenanters to paint…

Now I am gonna have a bunch of dragoons to paint up, too.

Beautiful figures. I only wonder at the number 13 for the mounted figures. Is his the squadron size for some set of rules? Strange to have such an odd number.

Timmo uk18 Mar 2010 2:11 p.m. PST

Bob

I presume its so you can choose to use the eagle bearer or not. I'm guessing many people may build units in multiples of 12's.

DeanMoto18 Mar 2010 3:34 p.m. PST

I only wonder at the number 13 for the mounted figures.
that's for the one figure you devote way too much time and effort on, and then list on ebay and try to recoup some of the cost for the other 12. grin

Wow, an absolutely incredibly perfect set for my 28mm Napoleonic skirmish project!!!

Demaratos18 Mar 2010 11:41 p.m. PST

Great!

legatushedlius19 Mar 2010 12:07 a.m. PST

One thing at least… Seeing this I have moved my one, lone cuirassier to the front of the painting pile on my desk. If I can just finish him maybe I can justify buying these as a treat at Salute…

The Owl19 Mar 2010 4:10 a.m. PST

Fantastic!!! Mamelukes??

Pictors Studio19 Mar 2010 5:18 a.m. PST

I'll be getting some to use as Isabellino line cav.

Dutch50819 Mar 2010 9:32 a.m. PST

Wonder how long it will take for me to convert a horse holder from the dismounted dragoons.

Jack Dempsey19 Mar 2010 2:27 p.m. PST

Absoulutely fantastic as everyone else has said. We are really very spoiled!!

Only minor quibble is that maybe the casualties could have been slightly different to those in the cuirassier set (1st negative comment I have ever made regards a Perry release)

The way the set is constructed makes perfect sense to me so
will be buying several boxes of these.

Mamalukes – now that would be very nice indeed. Could have a mix of early and late uniforms and they were at Waterloo with Kirmann so very relevant to the 1815 range.

kingscarbine19 Mar 2010 3:39 p.m. PST

Will convert these for early line cavalry for my Isabelinos. I'll need lot's of those elite bearskins for grenadiers…

Arteis19 Mar 2010 8:28 p.m. PST

Yahoo! … I'll be getting a set and hope to add a new figure of my ancestor Pierre van Dooren (trumpeter of the 12th Dragoons) to my collection before too long:

Plastic miniature scultping and production at its best.

Timmo uk21 Mar 2010 11:10 a.m. PST

As I've discussed on another forum – odd how the box art shows dragoons in blue not green coats. Although I now understand this will be corrected. A great product all the same.

JCBJCB21 Mar 2010 7:57 p.m. PST

It's my understanding that some extant dragoon coats do appear a bluish-green, strongly favoring the blue side. They weren't using chemical dies, after all, and central manufacture was little known.

Please – PLEASE – will someone – ANYONE, at this rate – please, PLEASE do some Spanish and/or Portuguese line infantry?

I can understand the economics of a plastics release, but it seems odd to release all kinds of French and British material, but provide no plastics for two of the major players in the Peninsula. What conversion possibilities those sets would offer.

If Warlord or Wargames Factory are listening, and have wanted to delve into Napoleonics, maybe they could start here?

kingscarbine22 Mar 2010 4:54 a.m. PST

JCBJCB,

Wargames Factory has the Portuguese listed in THE LIBERTY AND UNION LEAGUE catalogue. But you'll probably see the devil in the Winter Olympics first.

And Victrix already have some nice Cacadores out in metal. Can the line be far behind?
