How does this guy load his crossbow?

Pictors Studio09 May 2008 10:57 a.m. PST

Very carefully.

You do everything very carefully with scissor hands.

The other question would be: how does he wipe?

camelspider09 May 2008 10:57 a.m. PST

Looks a bit like the Molemen.

They have a special breed of clone for that.

Reminds me of Edward Scissorhands and the waterbed.

I like the base. Is that 25mm diameter?

AndrewGPaul09 May 2008 11:52 a.m. PST

30mm, I think. Rackham sell them by the bag (for rebasing old Confrontation minis), if you want some.

NYC:

Not a problem, he starts with 2 pre loaded and is dead before he needs any more. Clones have an extremely short lifespan under ConFrag rules

Come to think of it, why's it called a crossbow? The thing that looks like the lath does not appear to have a string on it for firing those bolts. Hmmm ….

Gattamalata09 May 2008 2:33 p.m. PST

@Ebob: the bases come in 30, 40 and 50mm round, though the old square ones are still valid. I'm placing mine on 25 and 40mm round GW bases with the 50mm being Rackham's product.

Dark Age/Warmachine bases are the same sizes and look better.

Gattamalata10 May 2008 9:34 a.m. PST

Warmachine bases have a rounded edge, like a display base – not my preference. With various grades of sandpaper, filed a 50mm Rackham round's edges til it had a similar bevel to GW ones.

Dark Age/Warmachine bases look nice on display only figures, but are impossible to pick up off the table without grabbing hold by the figure. Which should be the last thing you want to do.

The Rackham ones are a better design on that score, the GW et al better still and vertical sided coins or card the best.
