Great looking miniatures, and absolutely stunning paintjobs! Best of luck, i'm sure these will do great!

I especially love the painted on "lights" at the hanger bay door. How cool is that?

The lights do raise the bar a bit :)

"If favorably received, the ranges will be expanded with other classes of vessels, and with ships for more civilizations as well."

While I can understand your hesitation when entering a new field of miniatures you must also realize the dilemma for those of us who collect fleets for gaming. You ask us to buy 1 ship type in the hopes that others will follow. These ships are beautiful but unique enough that it would be hard to find ships in other manufacturers lines to be used as their escorts. Good luck in this endeavor but I will not be buying until there are additional designs available.

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2013 4:55 a.m. PST

Yes, Steve has done an amazing job painting these!

Gary Flack13 Sep 2013 4:55 a.m. PST

And of course for us in the UK we have the added bar of importing them
So I would also prefer a "complete fleet" to be available to make HM post / HMRC import rip off fees worth while before I'd get involved
But best of luck with them

Thanks MrHarold, appreciate the kind words.

Those are very keen. And some of the nicest spaceship pjs I've seen.

Oh my lord those are good.

Great painting too.

Only Warlock13 Sep 2013 5:12 a.m. PST

Smokin'! Those look great! Next I expect to see Felid Raider ships!

Spudeus13 Sep 2013 5:19 a.m. PST

Hopefully Stikk, Mekanoid and others also! The Garn is probably my favorite so far.

gameorpaint13 Sep 2013 5:25 a.m. PST

I was fooled by those lights for a second. Awesome.

elsyrsyn13 Sep 2013 5:37 a.m. PST

Nice ships!

Sloppypainter13 Sep 2013 5:54 a.m. PST

Those paint jobs are wonderful! The ships are pretty cool, too. The designs seem appropriate to the various species. That Garn ship reminds me of a toad…love it! I know they are 75mm long, but do you have a scale in mind? Knowing that may help place the ships in context with other manufacturers ships.

Steve13 Sep 2013 6:07 a.m. PST

You should state their size in your store as well (as accurately as possible). Spaceship gamers will want to know.

moocifer13 Sep 2013 6:28 a.m. PST

The top/1st ship is quite nice.

mdauben13 Sep 2013 6:37 a.m. PST

Three beautiful ships and the paint jobs are quite litterally "out of this world"! ;-)

jpattern213 Sep 2013 6:42 a.m. PST

All beautiful ships.

I could see the Pelagic ship, with a different paint job, being used as a commercial Star Liner.

True, that, single-figure spaceship ranges are pretty useless to most buyers. However, the first ship was sculpted by Charles Oines, who has a distinctive style. You might be able to find suitable, aesthetically-similar fleet-mates by shopping around his Irrational Designs store at Shapeways:

Some of his designs have been translated to metal by Studio Bergstrom, although so far it's just been the Star Trek-inspired stuff:

He also did the Squadron Strike figs for Ad Astra, which are smaller but some (the Russians in particular) are very similar in design:

Maybe the Khurasan boat could serve as an oversized flagship for a big fleet of the SQ models.

You might also find other possibles on Shapeways if you poke around some – there's one guy doing not-Star Wars Bothans that would fit pretty well. SCN has a good guide to Print On Demand stores over here:

simply beautiful, don't think i've ever seen such fine paint jobs!

Really want these!

richarDISNEY13 Sep 2013 7:11 a.m. PST

While those paint jobs were insane, those models are beauties!

You are an Evil EVIL man! those are sharp!

Meiczyslaw13 Sep 2013 7:58 a.m. PST

Good-looking ships, K. I'm going to poke around my collection and see if they fit in with anything I've got.

Though, put me down as another fleet-oriented gamer. If you're only going to start with three ships, it would have been better to start with three in one fleet, rather than a cross-section across fleets.

I have been coveting his work for quite some time. It would be nice if someone converted his Belter line to pewter. (Hint, hint.)

Lion in the Stars13 Sep 2013 8:02 a.m. PST

I'm really digging that Pelagic ship, though I think it's going to get sidetracked into a sub in the Blue fleet (or the 707R universe).

I think it'd be a decent match for the Spartan Games Aquans, too.

Broadsword13 Sep 2013 8:04 a.m. PST

Some suggestions: photos of the unpainted models on your website, along with their lengths in millimeters. Yes, they look fantastic, but I'd like to have an idea of how big they are and a photo what I'm actually buying. :)

True, that, single-figure spaceship ranges are pretty useless to most buyers.

Sums it up, I'm afraid.

Looking forward to watching the range grow!

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2013 8:06 a.m. PST

Thanks Lion--JBR and I worked on making the Benthic faintly similar to a baleen whale in shape and I'm very happy with his work on this.

Great paint jobs !! thumbs up

Very nice!

Gaz004513 Sep 2013 9:05 a.m. PST

Nice models! That painted light effect is amazing……more importantly the Magellanic Nomad is coming!!

Jojojimmyjohn13 Sep 2013 9:30 a.m. PST

Beautiful ships and paint jobs. Any chance we will see some tiny DPLS to accompany the Battle cruisers?

Ron W DuBray13 Sep 2013 9:42 a.m. PST

I have to agree with others and being a ship gamer myself, I would not buy a lone single style ship. but 3 or 4 ships in one style to form a fleet would more likely get the sale response you would be looking for.

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2013 9:44 a.m. PST

Quite likely that I'll do accessory packs for each empire….

The top ship is most excellent! Paint job = amazing.

The ships are super sharp -especially the Pelagic warship!- and the paint jobs superb, bringing them to life in singular fashion. Outstanding.evil grin

These rank right up there with my favorites from Cold Navy

Not my blog but a very nice one with excellent photos. I could get back into space ship gaming inspired by these.

The ships are nice but the paint jobs are stunning

Nice models! --and as everyone else has said, awesome paint jobs!

sharkbait13 Sep 2013 12:38 p.m. PST

Those look AWESOME!The paint jobs are incredible. Like other, I'd like to see full fleets. However, these are probably too nice to pass up.

khurasanminiatures13 Sep 2013 1:01 p.m. PST

Thanks Leland. I got some recommendations to use bog-standard painters but I think working with Third Fate was well worth it.

Covert Walrus13 Sep 2013 3:13 p.m. PST

Excellent work – though they will need some escorts and other vessels to sell in great numbers, it's a promising start! And Third Fate paintwork helps tremendously in doing that! dr pepper

Never be penny wise, pound foolish, Jon, and you know I'm going to have to acquire some of these for Silent Death as Destroyer class vessels…evil grin

Yeah I figured TF would do a good job for you , but i was wrong , he did a over whelming job for you all paint schemes are out standing.:)

"I know they are 75mm long, but do you have a scale in mind? Knowing that may help place the ships in context with other manufacturers ships."

If these ships are 75mm, they are about battleship size when compared to the GZG range.

They seem to be similar in scale to the Firestorm Armada ships. Of course, you can always move these ships up a class or two if you want them to fit in with your GZG scale type fleet.

Lfseeney14 Sep 2013 8:35 a.m. PST

I think the Pel would fit the Aquans in Firestorm well.

The Garn is very nice as well.

twogunsblazing15 Sep 2013 1:57 a.m. PST

Fantastic looking ships!!! I will definitely pick up a couple of the Federal Navy ships. Thanks for making some more ships available to the community….
