The fact of where it comes from is as interesting as the game itself :)

Not into WWW2 myself but good luck to them.

Maybe they can use the money to support a nice line of S.American historical minis? (OK I'm day dreaming but what the heck)

Riachuelo Games29 Jun 2009 3:50 p.m. PST

Thanks for all comments. In the next months we talk more about the game and minis. By the way, we have plans for release a complete miniature´s line about Triple Alliance War in 18 mm (Brazilian Army, Paraguay Army and Argentine Army), and a simple wargame system (fall 2009).

Cheers

I have no idea what the Triple Alliance War is, but you already have my interest piqued…!

Damon.

PS: of all the weird war II stuff I've seen, this seems to be the most plausable IMHO…

WorldAtArms29 Jun 2009 6:34 p.m. PST

I really like your Kugel Panzer Riachuelo, I thought about doing one myself personally. I also think your mech is pretty cool

I've seen bits and pieces of a telenovella on the local Latin TV network here in Ontario (TLN) which looks like it was set during this war. There was lots of interesting period uniforms and even some riverine fighting. Not knowing any Spanish or Portugese I don't know if I'm right but the period seems right. It was kind of neat and well put together.

Yea, more 15mm goodies to choose from.Like the green armor suits. Very pulpy.

Damon, as you can gather from the Wikipedia entry, it was a war that was fought in the same decade as the American Civil War and Napoleon III's/Maximilian's occupation of Mexico. My interest is piqued, too.

A question to Antonio and Riachuelo Games: Are there any plans to possibly launch a range, either in 25/28mm or 15mm, covering the Gran Chaco War of 1932-35? Thank you.

Parabens Antônio!

Nosso primeira empresa de minaturas no Brasil? Eu lembro uma loja na Praia do Forte que vende soldados de chumbo.

Suas noticias sobre a Guerra do Paraguai é otimo.

Boa Sorte!

This is good news, when my wife asks me where my money is going I can say I spent it at Riachuelo and she'll just assume I meant the budget clothing store chain of the same name. :-)

15mm?? Measured to the eyes or the top of the head. Oh wait, these are mecha…meka…stompy robots!!!!

Gracias,

Glenn

P.S. Triple Alliance War in 18 mm – a second size (Chanting is heard in the background: "15mm/18mm is not a scale…")

wink

Guys, thanks for all comments !

I´ll try to answer all questions :

Saginaw,

Yes it´s possible, I like the idea, but now our main focus was 15/18mm scale. Keep in touch and feel free to send suggestions, tipos, etc

"Jim,

People thanks for all comments again !!!

Cordially,

Excellent we have friends who live close by on the corner of R. Francisco Sá and Av. Atlantica, I haven't been into the fort itself for about four years but it's another good reason, apart from the good coffee at the restaurant there. You really should pose one of your miniatures next to its 'big brother' Carlos Drummond, given its proximity :-)

My own prefrence is for 28mm. I have been talking to a very talented sculptor in Australia who is interested in Latin American themes, I've lent him some books on Lampião but as a 'soteropolitano adoptivo', I'd love to see range of figure depicting Maria Quitéria and some Bahian patriots or a range for the Guerra de Canudos.

We should talk and hopefully sometime catch up in person, we will probably be in Rio next year to show off our next child to my wife's family.

Anyway it's exciting news about your business, the only other homegrown range of miniatures I've seen were those guys in Praia do Forte and their stuff was mainly Britains type old style toy soldiers and a few footballers they sold to tourists. We haven't been there since we took some friends out there a couple of years ago so I'm not sure if they still exist. It was a very strange place for a shop selling model soldiers.

Um grande abraço pra vc tambem.

Antônio Maarcelo, just remember I'm always available to proof your rule's English.

Hey, Jim! Next time you're down here, let me know and we'll set up a game for you.
