They look splendid! What do the pikes look like? Separate cast heads requiring assembly? Or wire pins of some legth? Or straight rods with no point? |
skinkmasterreturns | 26 Oct 2016 1:23 p.m. PST |
Must resist,and remember I already have 28's! |
mashrewba | 26 Oct 2016 1:43 p.m. PST |
A musket rest -I thought it was a hen on a stick. |
Old Glory | 26 Oct 2016 1:55 p.m. PST |
Pikes are straight wire without tip. Just paint the tip silver as at this scale the tip would be barely visible anyway. Lol, it does look like a hen on a stick in the pic, but it is a musket rest. These figs are as good, or better then 25/28 mm figures. Regards Russ Dunaway |
Flashman14 | 26 Oct 2016 3:17 p.m. PST |
Thanks Russ. What rules do you recommend for beginners? |
Old Glory | 26 Oct 2016 5:18 p.m. PST |
I can't help you with the rules. Ask around here on TMP and I'm sure you will get advice. I think I did hear about a new system soon to be released? Regards Russ Dunaway |
skinkmasterreturns | 26 Oct 2016 10:31 p.m. PST |
But Russ,the 28s I have are mostly yours!😀 |
Richgorski | 27 Oct 2016 4:26 a.m. PST |
When (if) will these be available in the UK? They look excellent. |
stephen phillip | 27 Oct 2016 5:10 a.m. PST |

Another great addition to the Blue Moon range Russ! Rich, I do believe that Andy at Old Glory UK had a hand in supplying information for the designing of the range and will be stocking it in the UK. |

To skinkmasterreturns Resistance is futile! (And I should know – this will be an entirely new period for me)

Eclipsing Binaries | 27 Oct 2016 1:22 p.m. PST |
These are nice (as is expected from Blue Moon). How will they scale up with Old Glory or Totentanz? Any ideas? Are they of similar height to the Napoleonic ranges? |
Khusrau | 27 Oct 2016 5:07 p.m. PST |
It's a shame they are this period really; as there are already some really nice minis available – it's one of the better Essex lines, Testudo and Totentanz minis are very nice indeed, and the Peter Pig miniatures have a ton of character and variety. |

Sounds of peremtory foot tapping, sub-rosa sounds. Tap, tap. Tap, tap. Rumble, grumble. More rumble, grumble. Tap, tap. Tap, tap. Rumble, tap, grumble, tap. Barely audible, "more releases coming in other categories", yeah, sure, you keep saying that – or something like it. Grumble, rumble. Rapid tap, tap, tap. Get on with it you creative lot, I'm waiting, I'm waiting. Tap, tap. Just when are we going to get the Boxer Mutiny Whatever the Heck I Want it now! range of figures you've been promising. And don't ask me about the figments of my imagination. Just give me the figures I want. Yesterday. Drumming of figures on table, wistful look away into the empty corner of the room |

Sorry to everyone with this issue EMW. As explained in another post. We were involved in another project ourside of our industry that gobbled up a very la4ge part of our time and resources. Just now getting back on track. Some real nice stuff in the works. Zulu wars and Mexican American wars on the "get it finished: priority list initially. Regards Russ Dunaway |

Skinkmaster--Same here! This is the third ECW scale for Old Glory--don't forget the 10s! Hey Kids! Collect 'em all! |
Early morning writer | 28 Oct 2016 7:10 a.m. PST |
Ah, Russ, while naturally I am curious as to what is coming – and hoping for my interests – I was much more poking fun at we hobbyists who are notoriously impossible to please. Give us everything we want and the next thing we want is more of what we don't even know what we want yet. And no one satisfies that urge better than Blue Moon, especially in 18 mm figures. Any chance of any architecture at some point to support the Musketeers range, a faux Tuilleries (much scaled down), the Bastille, a faux Notre Dame (also scaled down)? A nice other palace would be cool, too. Versailles might be a bit much for the table top, even its very early iteration. That request is associated to the ECW range because I hope to pull figures from it to 'support' my Musketeer figures. |
Hafen von Schlockenberg | 28 Oct 2016 8:04 a.m. PST |
Oops, I have to take that back--if you include the Sash and Saber 40mm,this is actually the fourth of OG'S ECW scales! |

I hope that Scots are on the way also for this line. |
Eclipsing Binaries | 30 Oct 2016 1:49 a.m. PST |
I agree with EMW. You've just announced a fantastic first release with dozens of packs and my first thought was to ask "where's the Scots?". Are we wargames never happened? We always ask for more while our unpainted and ungamed lead piles grow (and our wife's shake their heads and mutter "is this another game period?"). Well zdone for a fantastic release! …. umm, when's the camp sets, wagon conductors, engineers and civilians packs coming out? |
Andy Old Glory UK | 09 Nov 2016 7:11 a.m. PST |
When I did the lists for this range I included Scots and Irish . Now obviously I don't know when these will be made but they are included in the project list cos I wrote it . I have the first tranche of the first release outlined above in stock in the UK now More will be added with my next shipment. |
