Great! Need a game to use them in.

Two Hour Wargames is developing rules for automobile racing right now. First will come stock cars, and then open wheel racing like Grand Prix. Full Disclosure: I am helping Ed develop these rules.

Beautiful! Let me be the first to ask for them in 25/28mm as well, please.

They remind me of the opening race scene in the movie "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

Brian: Put that in your scenario book; it's on the house.

Outstanding News!

Schogun18 Dec 2014 3:11 p.m. PST

Very cool! 1/72 scale makes them about 2.3 inches long.

Monkey Hanger Fezian18 Dec 2014 3:32 p.m. PST

love them will be picking some up in the future and knowing our club we will need rules for weapons adding!!! (driver with broom handled mauser etc :-)

skippy000118 Dec 2014 4:16 p.m. PST

Lots of weapon parts in 1/72nd-Lewis guns, water-cooled .30 and a WC fifty---check Squadron.com.

Also aircraft armament may work.

Good for Pulp gaming.

Racetrack dioramas would be nice to see. Now we need driver figures, hot babes and photographers/press people. Not to mention pit crews, trucks, trailers and garages.

Right! Get to it, then…

Don't forget we need to have The Great TMP 'Should This Have Its Own Board' Debate.:)

Boy! These are nice! I've been waiting for these babies to come out of the factory.

Great stuff – why not bung a suitable weapons pack in and flog it as Retro Car Wars / Steampunky-Pulp-era-ish Mad Max as well?

A lot of us wargamers are mad for that Steampunky-Pulp-era-ish thing at the moment, literally we'd be begging you to take our money! grin

toomanyfigures18 Dec 2014 10:07 p.m. PST

These look fantastic. Definitely keen in 1:100.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut18 Dec 2014 10:30 p.m. PST

Those are wonderful, and I want them badly in 28mm. Even though I have zero use for them. I love the racing cars from that era.

Cerdic19 Dec 2014 12:21 a.m. PST

Should make them in 1/43 as well to cater for the car model collector market!

Skippy, you want pit figures like this?

1/64 is a good car scale – oh, and we would use Speed Circuit

skippy000119 Dec 2014 4:36 a.m. PST

Cerdic-Sure! More of Veronica Lake & Anna May Wong would be nice!

We'll need Great Gatsby figures, also.

axabrax19 Dec 2014 9:01 a.m. PST

Love the idea of a supporting range of figures including all the personalities mentioned above and pit crew. I'd be interested to see how a pure racing game (as opposed to a car wars game) could be made fun and playable in addition to a background campaign. I bet you could use some old Monte Carlo travel posters to good effect for art or maybe some clip art from old 1930s Esq. magazine.

Earthdog19 Dec 2014 11:37 a.m. PST

Throw on some jetengines and you have some very nice scifi speeders. Altough the 1930's mad max scenario sounds like fun too…
Deciscions, deciscions….

Quite a funny idea, that of Grand Prix attendant figures…

skippy000119 Dec 2014 1:11 p.m. PST

Ya gotta have the winner/trophy/champagne spray scene.

Don't forget Professor Fate and Max sabotaging all the cars. Well, a thirties version anyway.

Hi:
Uy, Uy, Uy, Uy, I see me sculpting beautiful pin ups to Minairons !!!!!!!
Be cool.
Congratulations Lluis.

skippy0001,
I don't think they did the whole spraying of champagne thing back in the 1930s. However, I do agree with you that some pit crew and other type figures to go along with these would be nice. Keep in mind though, that if we all give lip support to this but no one buys any cars, then Minarions won't have the $$ to put out more stuff. I'm ordering mine right after Christmas.

Agree. Ordering mine after the holiday too.

skippy000122 Dec 2014 8:18 a.m. PST

Definitely. For sci-fi players you can covert them to grav racers.

Vigilant22 Dec 2014 1:57 p.m. PST

Looking forward to getting these. After seeing the earlier news release I converted Formula De into a non-board game and tested it at our club. D6 then D6 +4, 8, and 12 for gears, Corners have a recommended gear which if you exceed require a driver skill check to avoid damage, oil leaks and engine damage if you roll a 6. Worked well on the 1st go and should make a decent participation game. Might have to wait for the 1:100 scale though to go with the club's 15mm buildings for 1930s street circuits.
