Is that armor, or are you just glad to see me? |

Looks like a pretty cool model. I was hoping to see their undead at Cold Wars but didn't notice them if anyone had them. I didn't look all that hard as I had found a bunch of stuff to buy already. I ended up with some Splintered Light undead as it turned out. |

As soon as these guys put out a set of rules I'm in like flin! Been waiting for a complete fantasy system to rival WH for some time now and it looks like this may do it. Rabbit |

Why is their set of rules any more likely to 'rival WH' than the masses of fantasy mass combat rules that are already out there? I'm thinking a good set of rules should be designed to be
a good set of rules
rules the designer would like to play
not to 'rival' someone else's idea of good rules. |

But if no one plays them it doesn't matter if they are good or not and that is probably the point. He is unhappy with WH for whatever reason and he hopes that a mass combat rival, that is not the WotR, comes out and that people will start playing that, thereby rivaling WH. |

Well
I hope for the same thing
But why does he think, "it looks like this may do it."? The only thing Warhammer has going for it is momentum and GW's huge marketing wallet
how are these guys gonna challenge that? |

Nice model, and a bit fatter than the anorexic plastics, but the helmet fin needs to be cut down considerable. |
| Brandlin | 19 Mar 2010 3:15 a.m. PST |
great cheap plastics – i could actually see me buying elves
until they made archers with cast on shields and hen
made the cavalry and all these associated models out of METAL!!! really really disappointing for those of us wanting massed cavalry ranks. Big mistake |
| Marshal Mark | 19 Mar 2010 3:26 a.m. PST |
Yes, when the cavalry cost £4.00 GBP each it rather spoils the idea of making a cheap army out of plastic figures. |

I like this from their website : "The first thing that should strike you about Mantic Games miniatures is that they are the only true 28mm fantasy models on the market in plastic. This means that all the models are correctly proportioned and look exactly as they should in real life." I wonder how many Elves and Ghouls their sculptors have seen in real life ? |

Not bad, but not nearly as impressive to me as the undead were. Just seems kind of blah, but then, nobody hits a home run at every at-bat. Doug |

Nice looking fig though i think the OFMs comment is spot on. Maybe they could have shortened the metal loin cloth by 1 section to make him a little less popular with the ladies. |

Thats exactly how I felt Brandlin. I even pre-ordered a huge 100+ model deal from them the very moment any of their pre-orders became available. When it arrived it was the 1st time I even saw the archers and I was just stunned. Then they announced all these metal figures for the other units in the army and I felt like they pulled the old bait and switch on me. However none of that has to do with this particular mini which as a kev white fan, and someone playing an eladrin warlord in D&D4e right now, I am very interested in. But I only need one so I dont think I am their intended customer ;) |

To qualify my earlier post
. For me what I always liked about WH was the completeness of the system, be it lack of imagination or laziness on my part. Rabbit |
