All these sets look perfect for my grand kids as I try to move them to more than dungeon crawlers.

Very nice. Seems we are back to flats…

I was about to get one of the other books first, but now I might wait until September.

Astonishing how that bottom-most photo looks for all the world like an army of 'solid' figures. Tempting.

I bought the ECW book and after gluing and cutting two regiments I lost the will to live.

However…

The rules and modular buildings alone are worth the money so I would heartily recommend them. Even if you can't be biffed with the scissors, the figures are a great painting guide! I look forward to the American sets in the hope they follow the same format.

"Seems we are back to flats…"

- Ah, but these are the right sort of flats, i.e. face-on. I'd love to wargame with metal flats, but the best view tends to be for onlookers on the – literal – sidelines.

The ACW set may be just what's needed to play 'Longstreet'?

Cutting out the paper soldiers seems more tedious than painting the miniatures, IMO.

Putting together a Roman army at the moment from an earlier book. Doing them over a couple of weeks you soon learn a good routine. Can't wait for these to come out.

Thinking -blocks- front and back, of course you would need two sets I suppose. Hmmmmmmm how is artillery presented?

The Wars of the Roses set had the option of either a flat piece that was painted as angled to suggest depth, or a head-on view with a separate trail, which was also used for the ECW set. Presumably, at least the latter will be there.

nice i was thinking of getting the ECW pack as im wishing to try this period

I am thinking about the Armada set but not quite sure what to mount the figures on. How heavy is the paper the figures are printed on? Does it need backing?

Anyway, I will not be cutting out each little detail as shown in the photos. Just too tedious.

GUY GUYS GUYS…

Here's how to use these figs and all paper figs:

Get the books, make the figs BUT only ONE RANK for each unit.

Place the rank BEHIND your 3D figs bidda bing badda boom .. huge(r) unit with no added wait. :)
