Hey! Those square things aren't chow mein! |

Cool idea. I'd be interested to see how the prices compare to Litko, though I can't figure it out, since you buy box rather then number of bases. |
| Strangemike | 03 Dec 2007 9:23 p.m. PST |
Their website indicates that there are approximately 125 bases per pint. I'm not sure how that works with the different sizes. Still, it's cheaper than Litko, though not the same material. |

Yep I love the big buckets of based deals that GF9 does at the HMGS cons. They also sell tons of flat movement trays and I was able to get quality trays for many of my armies just by buying these. |

Strangemike: Thanks for the info. Definitly a great deal then! |

Hi Strangemike and Trojan Bunny, For a price comparison with the Litko Bases, here are some actual base counts of recent orders. We compared our containers worth of bases with the closest amount of bases off the Litko site (without going over). For reference: One Pint of GF9 Econo bases cost US$7.50. One Quart GF9 Econo bases is US$12.50. Example#1: One pint of 25mm round GF9 Econo Bases produced 131 bases in the container for cost $7.50. From the Litko website: Qty: 100 round 3mm Plywood Bases cost($11.99) Example#2 One quart of 30mmx75mm GF9 Econo Bases produced 64 bases in the container and cost US$12.50. These are very large bases. Using the Litko Basemaker quoted: 75 x 30mm oval bases in 3mm Craft Plywood: $26.99 USD GF9 Econo bases are made from laser cut HDF (also know as Masonite) We prefer HDF to plywood for basing figures for a few reason which we describe on our website at: link We welcome input from any gamers who have used our bases in the past as they know better then anyone how well they work and how great of value they are. Game ON! |

Just straight HDF bases or are they magnetic? |
| rebmarine | 04 Dec 2007 5:49 a.m. PST |
Justin, They are straight HDF, no magnets. That being said, I've had no problem cutting magnet sheets to size and glueing them on the HDF. Since GF9 started the "fistful of bases" deals at the HMGS conventions, these have become my base of choice. rebmarine |

I must say I have been singing the praises of these bases for the past two or so years. Stopping at the Booth and scooping up a few handfuls has always been a must stop for me at the big three conventions. I just wish I could find a guy 7 feet tall with Huge hands! VR James Mattes |

I have been banging GF9 over the head for years about this. GF9 bases IMO are the best non-plastic bases out there. When you go to Cons like Fall-In or Historicon, they have big buckets where you can grab a hand full. IMO if you don't order these bases you're really missing out on some good stuff. The following message was paid for by GF9. Just joking, but seriously I really like their bases. |

Oh and one more thing. GF9 thanks a bunch for doing this. |

It's looking like a good deal for bases
However, I will suggest to the different manufacturers of bases to show some pictures of figures on top of their products so we can really see what it look like
I will suggest to simply put a figure on a base without any scenic element added to have a better idea of the thickness and to see if it suit our needs. It could be done with both a 15mm and 25mm miniature
I don't know if it does make any sense for others but, for "visual" peoples like me, I think it will help. |

Sorry I painted this base but perhaps this the idea picture from link and for the GF9 magnetic bases picture |

Thanks a lot Justin for those pictures that help a lot! |

That looks to be a very good deal! Do you have any plans other sizes like 1.5mm or 2mm thick bases? |
