Nice but (and maybe it's the angle of the picture
or me
) but the heads look "small" for some reason. Always nice to have another company selling miniatures though! Gracias, Glenn |

Agreed the minis are nice but as Warbeads wrote, some of the heads look too small or even squashed. Did they eat any of Alice's shrinking cookies ? |

Is the second guy on the left playing a saxophone? |

I thought the same thing about the heads. Maybe its because of the bulky coats that they are wearing, providing the optical illusion of the head being small. |
Virtualscratchbuilder | 03 Jul 2009 6:55 p.m. PST |
It is not really the heads – they seem to be the right proportion – 1/8 of the total height. However, the hands and to a lesser degree the arms are way out of proportion, which makes the heads look smaller. |

The hands are indeed well out of proportion, sort of like flat pancakes (top picture, figure on the left). The heads do look a bit small to me as well, even with the large coats. However, the detail of the figures look amazing as well as some of the positions of the figures. Heads might be more noticeable, but the hands probably aren't at that scale. |

I agree it's an enormous shame when folk use their critical faculties in responding to an advertisement. God forbid that anyone criticise a new product or express their own personal tastes when it comes to the promotion of an item. Me, well I'm happy with my collection 1970s Minifigs and Irregular Miniatures I doubt they are likely to be bettered for their exacting detail or their fantastic sculpting. The faces in particular are so lifelike! I was going to post some footage of a game I played with them recently but sadly my Beta-Max video recorder seems to have something wrong with it. |

Strange – for me they look almost perfect! Some of the best 20mm Soviets around! |

Look good to me – thank God someone is making Commies in greatcoats rather than padded winter tunics. They're on my shopping list. |

Those look b####y awesome. Just love the greatcoats and the proportians look fine. I wonder how many complaining wargamers have the perfect anatomy. I've seen and painted many of these figures and in my opinion they are amongst the best 20mm figures made. |

There seems to be some collective insanity among 20mm gamers regarding: a) the proportions of figures, and b) how to paint them. Exhibit A: picture Each to his own, however. Allen |

They look jolly fine to me- having wargamed with mainly Airfix figures some of these would fit in just nice. Just had a look at the site and its nice and freindly, everything works, not many products yet but I get the feeling that will be remedied before long. |

Umm, guys
I believe the Russians are all wearing heavy gloves and that accounts for the large hands. |
| eBob Miniatures | 06 Jul 2009 6:49 a.m. PST |
I have to agree with Allen regards that bizarre operatic painting style where everyone looks like they're 100 years old. There is one other collective 20mm insanty category you forgot though, and that is the size or scale of a 20mm figure. Very few are 20mm, unless you take a measurement from floor to nipple. Most are 25mm or thereabouts. If they're supposed to be 1/72 scale, then 25mm makes sense, I'm 180cm – divide that by 72 and you get exactly 25mm. But 20mm is more like 1/87 or 1/90 scale. It strikes me as completely insane (and misleading) to describe a 25mm high figure as 20mm. |
Troop of Shewe | 07 Jul 2009 11:34 a.m. PST |
I have some of the earlier Russian releases and they are excellent. It is true they are more "slender" than say the majority of "20mm" figures available, but in my opinion, and as for 28mm, figures are gradually losing the artistic sculpting scale comprimises we are accustomed too( small stocky stature, exagerated hands and and heads) and are slowly becoming more anatomically correct. I put these in the latter category. I cant wait until i can get my grubby mits on them, the kharkov germs are some of the best i have seen in ages. |

"I believe the Russians are all wearing heavy gloves and that accounts for the large hands" What he said
..Thick winter great coats and padded gloves often result in a "Michelin man" look, wait till the next snowfall near you for clear evidence of this. |
