Here in the US, these are $5 USD at Harbor Freight. $4 USD if you have the 20% off coupon from the Sunday newspaper. X-Wing players have been using these for quite awhile now — they are indeed very handy. And a good reason to exclaim "Pew, Pew, Pew!" while checking for arc of fire ^,^ |

Went to the U.S. store and it is listed as "Out of Stock". Guess it is too new. |

They are sold as Line Level Lasers for table saws. You can remove it from the little metal base to make it easier to handle, or leave the base on for solid placement on the table to reduce hand-wiggle. |
Deeman | 26 Nov 2014 8:37 a.m. PST |
Don't see it at Harbor Freight. |
Mithmee | 26 Nov 2014 8:39 a.m. PST |
Clear line of sight to that truck but not to the infantry on the other side of it. Center to Center and not just barely seeing the base. |
Gennorm | 26 Nov 2014 8:40 a.m. PST |
It's been out of stock at Warlord since they first announced it last month. |
Deeman | 26 Nov 2014 8:43 a.m. PST |
Listed as a laser marker on their website. |

Got one at Wal Mart for $4.00 USD. |

Wait -- this is important. Use more words! I go to WalMart, and I ask for … what? A "Line Level Laser"? Am I asking in the building department? |
RayHaskins | 26 Nov 2014 9:55 a.m. PST |
I use a laser pointer i bought for 99p on ebay. |
Deeman | 26 Nov 2014 10:00 a.m. PST |
Pointer does a dot. These project a line. |
Marcus Maximus | 26 Nov 2014 10:15 a.m. PST |
Out of stock already, great…Not! |
Terrement | 26 Nov 2014 10:21 a.m. PST |
link but in store only – can't order online. Walmart doesn't have anything online priced like Joe bought, so I'm guessing his is a pointer, not a line level laser. Pointers will still work, just not as well, IMHO, but certainly very available and inexpensive. Dollar tree has them for cat chasing. When the batteries run out, it is far less expensive to just buy a new light, and use the tube for your bitz box. JJ |

I use a 'level' laser frequently used by builders. I bought it some time age (Woolworths) but it projects a 'line' not a 'dot' and cost, from memory £2.00 GBP
Useful, but available cheaper elsewhere. |

I got a very nice one from JCB (yes, the same people) that combines a laser line line this in a steel tape measure. And all for a fiver – excellent :) Mind you, this is smaller and handier so I may well pick one up if I see one at a show :) |

These were offered by a now defunct gaming company, around a decade ago. I still have it, and I still use it. They do, however, project a rather dim line -- the longer the line (the higher you hold it over the table), the dimmer the laser line gets (remember: mine is 10+ years old…). Check with your tool suppliers for laser line projectors, likely in the saw department, or with the levels. Cheers! |

I just went to Harbor Freight on my break and bought three. Two as gifts. Opened one to try it out. Projects a curved line……. |
Private Matter | 26 Nov 2014 1:23 p.m. PST |
A curved line? That sound good for shooting around obstacles. |
thosmoss | 26 Nov 2014 1:38 p.m. PST |
Hey! Found one here: link (careful -- the shipping costs more than the level) and the video review here: YouTube link |
Deeman | 26 Nov 2014 2:08 p.m. PST |
Yep, the lens the laser passes through gives it a slight bowed shape and yes you could shoot around something just barely blocking your view. Well this is going back… |
Bobgnar | 26 Nov 2014 2:39 p.m. PST |
The one in the original picture has the line running perpendicular to the direction of the laser pointer. Most pointers have lines that run out of them parallel to their projection. A laser that casts a spot will Cast a line if you touch it down to the surface. The perpendicular line is very handy because you don't have to get behind the shooter or the target, you can do it from above. Who makes these? |

Haven't we been using these for years…? No, no, no. We've been using line projecting lasers for years. But this, this is a Wargame line projecting laser! It's orders of magnitude better! Like tiny dishes of sand labeled for wargames are infinitely better than just plain sand! Come on, you gotta get on board! |
altfritz | 26 Nov 2014 3:56 p.m. PST |
"Clear line of sight" – yeah, what a screwed up example! |
miniMo | 26 Nov 2014 4:03 p.m. PST |
@Bobgnar, the Harbor Freight Laser Marker is marketed to attach to power saws for lighting a line along the cutting path. |
louislouis | 26 Nov 2014 5:49 p.m. PST |
I use one of my thumbs. I got them for free years ago. |
mgdavey | 26 Nov 2014 6:17 p.m. PST |
I'm a bit confused about the product; is this just same as any other laser light level, or, as Bobgnar notes, does this laser trace a line on a plane perpendicular to where you point it? |
miniMo | 26 Nov 2014 7:12 p.m. PST |
Yes, the line is perpendicular. |
sneakgun | 26 Nov 2014 9:41 p.m. PST |
I picked one up at harbor Freight for $ 4.99. You can turn the front for any angle. |
