Sounds good and they look great! I wonder though if the French will have the Bicorne since at first it said 1805-1812 but now says 1807-1812 when the Shako was used.

British mounted command/generals are surprisingly difficult to get hold of – Foundry do a few, and Front Rank a dozen but beyond that the choice is very limited.

I'll buy some of these if they are sold seperately.

Please do not run out as I can't get there until sunday lunchtime due to family commitments.

I was thinking the same thing Guy!

I was disappointed to read a bad review on another site which mentioned mould lines, arms needing pinning, backpacks that don't fit to the model and hands that don't grip the musket. Can anyone else who has bought these confirm what the quality is like and whether they take ages to put together?
I'll certainly be interested to see what these figures look like in the flesh and was looking forward to getting these as they have dynamic poses. However, if the 'review' is correct and, as much as the wait will pain me, then I'll have to wait for the Perry releases next year?

First I have heard myselt von Paulus.

i would be suprised if plastics need pinning- polystyrene cement effectively melts the pieces together making a very strong weld. I cant imagine the arms are so heavy that they would need to be pinned in placed either.
Mould lines are probably a given thought with plastics, but they should be nice and easy to file off.

I will try and assemble one when I get home tomorrow. There certainly are a lot of bits, unlike the Perry figures which are pretty much one piece, but they look pretty compatible.

Nice one chaps! Always interesting to get alternative views on these things! Its the first negative comments I've heard but I'll have a look myself on Saturday.

I assembled half a Peninsular Centre Company so far and didn't need to 'pin' anything.
Hardly any mouldlines at all (hello GW..). True, you need to figure out which arm fits where, but that shouldn't be too big a problem for anyone in our hobby.
Every single one of the backpacks has been fitting perfectly.
All in all an outstanding box of miniatures. Great attention to detail, even the Drummer Boy is recognisably a kid!!
Variety of poses and heads is phantastic. The only downside for me is that there are not as many marching/ fireing figures as I would have liked, but I guess I'll simply gonna buy a few more boxes to get them.

Would be great to have the opportunity to buy the mouted officers, but I got no time to get to Reading. I hope they will be released officially at some stage before Xmas.

Cheers

I bought some.

So far; arms do not need pinning. The hands come on the muskets. Poly cement welds it all OK.

The backpacks do seem to fit. They ride higher than you might first put them.

There are mould lines, but they are no more present than they are in most metal lines.

The bases are thick.

They look, from a preliminary examination, compatible with Front Rank/Elite/Eagle.

The box comes with bodies to make 4 commissioned men (officers or ensigns), 4 drummers, 4 NCOs and 40 men.

The 40 men have 4 kneeling, 8 standing and 24 advancing/charging.

There are 8 pairs of firing arms, 8 shouldered (for marching), 4 grounded muskets (for standing), 4 for the kneeling figures to be defending, 8 high porte, 8 leveled (charging), 8 trailing. There's 4 drums and 4 sets of drummer arms. There are 8 sword arm pairs, 4 standards, 4 pikes and why this information isn't all on their website, I don't know.

Bought some at Warfare and I'm very happy with em. All the things Katie L said above! Can't wait to get working on em!

I too bought some at Warfare and am generally happy but, and it is quite a big but, the mould lines are very distinct and require considerable work.
Would I buy more; probably not.
