Lovely as usual.
What with these, Victrix, and now the Warlord ECW minis, it looks like the girlfriend will be getting coal and a satsuma again this year.
Oh well……

What's the "unit based sprue"?

von Paulus20 Nov 2008 3:08 p.m. PST

Ah but when will these be available? If its anything over a couple of months then I'm not sure my motivation will hold out!

What's the "unit based sprue"?

A sprue of flat plastic bases in various sizes to base up your units.

mweaver20 Nov 2008 3:57 p.m. PST

Nice! (which is no surprise, I suppose).

10thFoot20 Nov 2008 4:32 p.m. PST

Would prefer that the price stayed low and we were left to do our own basing.

Figures look great.

avidgamer20 Nov 2008 5:39 p.m. PST

Are the drums really that big?

Skeptic20 Nov 2008 5:42 p.m. PST

Are the drums really that big?

I think it's more that the drummers are small, being drummer boys.

These are very tasty. French advancing, and Brits defending.

Look how far we've come in just one year, from the initial announcements of the plastic ACW, to these. Bravo!!

I will be working extra games this basketball season, just to reward myself with boxes of Nappys!

I will be working extra games this basketball season…

Acting gig not working as well as it used to? grin

After years waiting for British… and now! Oh, Geez! I feel like a child in a candy store!

Ditto to both.
Paying for plastic bases that will probably be the wrong size and go straight in the bin would put me off.
Great work on the figs though.

Brilliant work and a neat way of solving the differences between early and late officers' coatees.

As to the ACW price hike, they did say months ago that 12GBP was an introductory price so this is hardly a surprise. I feel a bulk order at the old price coming on.

But if the sprue of bases is the same as in the French infantry box, it's not much use to me without some cutting, and that might be more work than sticking to my usual thick card.

These look great. I know what the next big project has to be. Can't wait to see the rest of the range.

basileus6621 Nov 2008 8:34 a.m. PST

I suposse the bases included will be the ones they use for the upcoming ruleset of Warlord Miniatures, Black Powder. After all they are co-operating in the design of the rules. Probably they think that the hike is not too high, that the veteran gamers will continue buying anyway -after all the price is still low if compared to metals- and that the bases will be felt as a plus for those people that would buy the rules AND their figures.

GW and Battlefront do the same and it works very well, i.e.: rules, miniatures and bases. The combo being thought as a coherent system very gamer-friendly.

10thFoot22 Nov 2008 7:33 p.m. PST

That is somewhat worrying.

Just because a person can sculpt doesn't make their rules good as well.

Doc Ord23 Nov 2008 2:01 p.m. PST

PET scans of the brain show that the sculpting & rules writing centers of the brain are very close to each other.
