A big congratulations to the chaps at Ganesh. I could see from the Origins schedule how hard you were working, so this is a great reward.

I just bought this a couple weeks ago. A friend tried it at Origins, and is hooked! We're still trying to sort out what scale that we want to play in though,1/72 is the front runner. What I want to know is,whens the ancients version coming out?

Skinkmasterreturns,
the ancient version "Song of Spear and Shield" should be ready for Xmas… we are playtesting it right now (actually there was a big four-player test at Origins).

We are also working on a large scale version of the rules and a supplement for the skirmish book, depending on how playtest goes, one or the other should be available this year.

is there a review of the rules anywhere before I buy them?

lazaruslong
(a Heinlein fan I suppose); no review of SDS that I know of, but you can read the reviews of the fantasy system here songofblades.blogspot.com -- the description of the basic rules and general comments on gameplay apply to the Napoleonic version as well as the core rules (activation and combat) are the same. Of course the period feel is all in the special rules and the army lists…
