Ditto per the paint jobs and those are attractive figures as well. I'm excited to hear that the company is going to make the early French in bicorns. |

Can these Highlanders be used for the Battle of New Oleans – 1812? |

@WarWizard Can these Highlanders be used for the Battle of New Oleans – 1812? to be honest I'll buy them on the off chance they can be, these are wonderful figures and the chance of using them for 1812 battles will be my excuse to crumble and buy them now were there any troops in Early French uniforms in the War of 1812? as I need an excuse to get them as well, oh and the Grenadiers |

Anyone got a Vallejo code for tartan paint? If so, I would need Black Watch and Gordon Highlanders bottles. |

These are great figures. I just need to find a good reason to buy 120 highlanders and these will go an the Claymore shopping list. |

I havent seen tis announced on TMP but I noticed this interesting bit of news on the Victrix site. British Royal Marine heads available mid August Victrix are pleased to announce that they will be releasing a set of Royal Marine metal heads to use with the British infantry set VX0002 British Peninsular Centre Companies. The set will comprise 48 heads (6 x officers and 42 marines) and 9 arms (6 cutlass and 3 boarding axe). Simply replace the infantry heads with marine heads and omit the back pack and you will have Royal Marines. Use these elite troops in ship to ship actions, cutting out expeditions, attacks on enemy shore lines and many more scenarios. |

Royal Marines? Very good idea BUT can you get away with just leaving off the backpack? Aren't the straps for it on the body? No expert but I thought the Marines had gone over to stovepipe shakos by the time of the Peninsular War-which is when I suspect many Sharp Practice scenarios will be set,if only because most will have the 1808-onwards French already-and the Royal Navy was active in support of coastal actions. |

Very nice – I got a chance to check out the sprues at the Bovington show and they're just a nice in the flesh – they'd had some problem with the boxes so we couldn't buy them – the models had very good faces which by the look of this lot paint up rather nicely. The sheets of flags are good value as well – so long as you want to paint up several regiments – but why wouldn't you at this price. |
