I saw this bunker in Normanday. They got it right as the back wall faces the sea and the open part to the rear. The 50mm gun (still in the bunker in Normandy) would provide flank shots against any allied armor coming up from the beach. There must have been a dozen impact points on the back wall from 75mm shells that just bounced off the think concrete. The gun was taken out by a lucky hit to the barrel. |

It looks great. Now how about producing the 50mm gun for it. |

surely there must be plenty Pak38 and crew already available in 28mm? |

A different 50mm gun is required for this bunker than a Pak38. It used a 50mm tank gun on a fortress mounting. Google is not being very helpful at the moment but I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct description soon. |

As I remember it was a standard 50mm with gun shield mounted on the pivot mount that rotated just over 180 degrees. |

Here's a couple of photos of the bunker and gun on Juno beach. link Go down a little bit on this site to see a picture from right after the battle and one from today. link |

Hi Dan, the weapon usually found in Vf600 strongpoints was an obsolete 50mm tank guns (KwK39/KwK40) but the ones on Juno were armed with 50mm PaK38 remounted on pedestal mounts (Sockellafetten) and fitted with a double layer spaced armour shield. Will have a look around but if nobody does a suitable model in 28mm yet I agree we certainly have to provide one
Cheers! Claudio |

Force of Arms has one of those cannons on 28mm. |

"Force of Arms has one of those cannons on 28mm." Palafox, are you certain about this? I went out to their website and did not see a listing for it. What is it listed under on the site? |

Yes, I found it one day while looking on Wargames command post webpage under WWII, Infantry, force of Arms artillery. Down in the page it's there. FoA-ART19 – German Festung Pak 5cm KwK L/42 link They didn't had it available at that moment so I asked by email to Force of arms directly and bought one from them. It's somewhat tricky but I got one. |

That explains why I could not find it. I went to Force of Arms website and they had a pdf file to list what is available but it is not listed on it. Their WWII range was sold to Army Group North Miniatures and even they don't have it listed on their site. So that is suprising that you were lucky enough to get one. So Claudio I would suggest making one to go with this excellent bunker. |

I think old glory used to make (or still does) a gun that would work. |

I'm happy to be corrected 8^), I have a Britannia 20mm model of the version I was referring to and I can now convert some Pak38's into fortress guns as well. |

"I think old glory used to make (or still does) a gun that would work." I don't see any on their site. Are you sure they had one? And remember it can't be just any gun but a 50mm gun. |
