When you expand the range you may wish to have your artist spend a bit more time researching his subject. Under the presumption that the picture is supposed to represent a WWII era US footlocker
.Issue footlockers did not have a metal edging, (although private purchase could) A Sgt. would not have an "O" prefix to his service number as an "O" designated an officer. The color is off (granted that may be the photo) Maybe it is a test run

I agree ont he cost. My wife found round plastic boxes at the christmas tree store for around $2 USD each – both box and lid make good dice rolling surfaces. Cool idea if you have unlimited finances though |
