Does anyone know what "putty" means? Is this green stuff? And if these are the plastic toy soldiers that are injection moulded, is the master sculpt 3 times the size of the final product? Sort of like what the Perry's showed for their new 28mm plastic Napoleonic figures.

Just curious. Just wondering if I should send in photos of my work. The answers to these questions will help me make up my mind. Wanted to ask here before sending an e-mail and looking like I wanted to make a commitment.

Thanks

Matthew

I would bet that "putty" does indeed mean green stuff/gray/brown epoxies. Used in this context, as opposed to some of the sculpting processes that use various consistencies of wax to sculpt originals.

As for the size of the work, it mentions 54mm as the scale. At that scale, I would expect that the sculptor is working at that 1:1 ratio, rather than any reduction made for final production. I recognized some of the work on Barzo's website as sculpts that Tom Meier had posted on his blog, with his mention that it was 54mm scale. I could be wrong with that though.

Thanks Ironwulf. Not knowing the process of how the Barzso final product is made does make it a challenge. If they are injection molded, then there will be some shrinkage in the molds so depending on how they are made will depend on the size – hence my reference to the Perry article.

But I do agree with you that "putty" must be green stuff.

Thanks again.

Ron's latest figures are his first in plastic. All previous sets were resin. I have no idea what his plans for the future are with respect to material, so this adds another element of uncertainty.
