So, having started with the "codex" model, the game now switches to the "yearbook" model of update? Okay. I can handle that.

I don't think this was a switch on their part.

Long ago they mentioned that once the army books were released for the initial four races, they were going to produce a scenario/campaign book.

Yes, this gives them a chance to add a new unit or two to each army, but I don't see this as a chance in approach.

So its a change of presentation, but not a change of plan? Got it.

Still waiting for some of the UNA and Therian vehicles , how about finishing armies before starting somthing else ?

It looks good. A lot of the new combat drills look very good too. I've played with some of them and they add a lot to the tactics of the game.

There are new vehicles coming out all the time. I just saw the new Therian big vehicle and it looks impressive. The UNA big tank was also recently previewed and it looks quite good too.

I'm hoping some of the tracked and wheeled vehicles will come out this year. They have teasers for them but no stats or indications when they will arrive.

Overall, very nice.

Farstar … I cannot tell if you are being sincere or sarcastic. Do you have a problem with the scenario pack?

Mossdocking … I would guess the rules writing staff are different folks from the sculpting staff, so there is no one (minis) before the other (printed materials).

I would prefer they complete the initial four races before adding the Cogs and any future races, but I doubt that will happen. I can't think of any tabletop minis game out there where the company completed an entire army before adding a new one. Just doesn't seem to be the nature of the beast.

Since they only have one or two items left for each force aside from the Karmans I see this as very possible.

Once the factions get their Type 3 vehicles all should be good.

Don't expect the Cog for another 6+ months (finish sculpting, approval, overseas for production, shipping, distribution, etc). I'm sure there'll be delays in there too.

Although I'm not 100% sure why they'd be releasing random oddball TAC suit units for UNA while the Therians and Red Bloc sit stagnant.

I agree Keltheos. Seems like they could/should be ramping up getting the rest of the Karmans out. They could hold off on the Type 3 vehicles across the board if you ask me, and first get the core done for all.

I don't know anything about Rackham and their "usual" release plans (if there is any sort of pattern). Some companies like to do a spring and fall push. Others might time their big releases (like new games or new armies) around gaming conventions. Perhaps someone who knows Rackham better can comment.

I don't expect to see the Cogs this year, and even if they put something out by December, it will likely be another 2-3 months before they make it to the US.

I rather get the feel they are going to push Type 3 mechs along with the Frostbite Campaign, to give them a new minis and new scenarios double-play.

Haven't read it yet. I generally prefer yearbook/campaign style expansions to codex expansions. It remains to be seen if the translation from the French makes enough sense to be useful…

LOL Farstar :)

I have no history with Rackham prior to AT-43. I had read about their poor translations in the past, and was worried. But it's not too bad. Those with a history say this is better than other products, so they are learning. There are a few head scratchers, and even an occasional line that is not translated at all. But not bad.

As for release methods … I prefer to have all options for an army in one book. Since the nature of any game is that you are continually adding new units and options and mods, unless they sell the books as PDFs so I can print them out and bind them myself, I'm always out of luck.

Codex, campaign … makes no difference.

I will say, the price of the Rackham army books is quite reasonable for an all-color book (less than half the price of that "other" company, and that's before any discounts).

I look forward to this supplemt. Love to see how they handled the campaign, which is supposed to let any two people using any two armies fight it out, and results from one scenario drives the next scenario in the series.

Or so I've read.

All sounds an interesting approach and with some differences to other manufacturers approaches; The background also seems to be lively and has intriguing scenario possibilities. Although it's not my scale, I do have soem tempted feelings about it.

And I loooove the blonde technician in her parka . . . :)

GW has apparently built a successful 20-year business model this way.
