What a great offer. I always buy Copplestone figures when they first come out and can never take advantage of the special offers. I even have at least two of every pack already, and most painted, thanks to Fernando Ent. I am planning on seeing the movie on Thursday. Anyone notice in the previews that most of the gangsters carry Tommy guns with stick clips. Most pictures, and even the Copplestone figures show the guys with drum clips. More shots in a drum, but more difficult to carry spares? Johnny Depp is one of the best actors in the business today, can do anything. Hope he is as good in this as everything else. He deserved the Oscar for Pirates :( By the way, maybe someone should tell Mark that Company B makes a great armoured train that is in production, available from Brigade. |

More shots in a drum, but more difficult to carry spares? I believe most of the Tommy's reliability problems were down to the drum magazine. Also the stick magazine would seem the obvious choice if you were going into a bank with a Thompson hidden under your coat. Depression bandits tended to be absurdly overgunned, I'd expect them to have a wide choice of guns and magazines in the back of the car. There's a passing reference in the book to Karpis abandoning a hideout in such a hurry that he only took the bag containing his favourite SMGs: rather makes you wonder just how many he had in total. On the hardware front it's heartening to see the trailer has BARs and bolt-action rifles in addition to the usual Thompsons. |

Back from the cinema. I think you'll find enough drum magazines in the film to keep you happy. Pretty darn good if you aren't loooking for historical accuracy; pretty dire if you are. Well wothwhile for anyone who appreciates fedoras, Thompsons and Ford V8s. There's even a Ford trimotor, whoopee ! |
