Could the scenarios be transferred to another system (I'm thinking of Impetus) relatively simply and still work.

Would love to hear how these rules work, from someone who has played them. Can't quite get my head around the situation illustrated on the cover: Units facing hex 'points'. How do they even advance?

vtsaogames05 Oct 2015 2:08 p.m. PST

The two hexes to either side of the front point are the hexes a unit can advance through. I've not played Legion but have played other games that work using hex points. That makes two front hexes, two flank and two rear.

If I wanted to play the battles with miniatures, does the system still cope with that (as apparently that was in the first edition)

kodiakblair05 Oct 2015 3:53 p.m. PST

Are these a plain old fashioned reissue then or has it been revised ?

Temporary like Achilles05 Oct 2015 11:39 p.m. PST

- Nick B – yes, scenarios could be transferred to other systems. There are specific troop numbers given and specific terrain, but the deployment is up to the players. If you want deployment info as well, Strategos II might be a better bet (Strategos II, another game being reissued, should be available over the next week).

- Musketier – facing a hex point is quite a common feature of hex board wargames or hex mat miniatures games.

- Nick Bowler – Yes, you can still play with miniatures, but you'll need to supply your own hex mat and figures!

- Kodiakblair – see the newsblog for more info: link The only things that have changed are the components and the presentation. The rules, scenarios and designer notes are exactly the same in content.

Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Aaron

Thanks Aaron

That's a major improvement in presentation.Certainly puts my old printed on yellow cardstock version to shame.

Just unearthed a bundle of SOA games,Strategos,Roma Invicta,Saxon Shore. Are SOA planning on reissuing many more games ?

We've just reprinted Strategos II, which sold out some months ago, and others may follow. Legion certainly seems to have been appreciated!

Looks good…is the solitaire with AI or just play both sides?

Temporary like Achilles07 Oct 2015 6:57 a.m. PST

It's play both sides, Korsun.
