Whole wheat or rye?

Probably a mischbrot (mixed grain bread) which is very delicious, at least in modern German bakeries.

Not my scale I'm afraid but I love stuff like this. I create 'a world' not just a battle when I set up a table – or at least that is the goal. Very nice.

Beautiful – do I get one set of all of them or one for each army?

Need to wait for the oven to purchase all in one go I think – cheaper on postage that way.

It is delicious, but wouldn't they be baking hardtack? They work for the military, after all.

according to an article in the periodical Mars in 1805 – those armies who issued ryebread it was 2 pounds and entirely of rye, France used however also wheat in the proportion one quarter of wheat to 3 quarters of rye.

the usual issue was bread and not Zwieback
