Biohazard level is an all-around deal. I'm looking forward to this game. |

That biohazard level is a good deal. A ridiculously good deal. Kickstarter projects really seem the way to go for this stuff. |

Even if the game's of no interest, putting a buck in the tip jar lets you buy those extras as add-ons. $5 USD a mini for McVey scifi characters is a good buy, and you could grab up to three of those impossibly cool chunky exo-frame suits for $15 USD instead of the $25 USD he usually asks for them. Even the terrain pack looks like a good deal – $30 USD for a pile of stuff to dress up a scifi table or building project. But yes, the Biohazard deal is just amazing. |
JRacel | 29 Jun 2012 6:43 p.m. PST |
Rich, There was a clarification somewhere that you had to pledge at least Biohazard to be able to buy many of the add-ons. I can't remember where, but it was discussed in the forums. Jeff |
Mako11 | 29 Jun 2012 7:18 p.m. PST |
Only $25 USD for one miniature. Surely you can charge more than that!!! |
Broadsword | 29 Jun 2012 7:42 p.m. PST |
From the only thing I can find online: link ATTENTION: Promo figures (Niven, Ridley, Ramirez, etc) are limited to 3x add-ons EACH per game box. Airlock & Docking Bay levels ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for including promo figures in their pledge total! Airlock & Dockingbay *may* add Dice, Terrain, and Tiles to their pledge total (this has been confirmed by Mike McVey) If you have a better source: please post it. |

Yes, this is a great deal. With the minis that just got added the last couple of days, it's really tough to pass up. |

>Only $25.00 USD USD for one miniature. Actually you get some 90+ miniatures – including a couple that go for 25$ in their metal version – for 100$ here. Imho you can only pass this up when you are really not intersted in SF (or this particluar P-World of it). |

When a company hits a Kickstarter Goldmine, what happens to the extra profit? Yes, you're getting extra figures. I think originally the game was going to have 24 miniatures; now its 100. Isn't there a gap between 4x the number of miniatures and 38x the amount of money needed? |
CPT Jake | 30 Jun 2012 4:09 a.m. PST |
They hit the goal for the exo suit chick and now have a new one:
But they need to hit over 923K for it. Alternately, they'll offer him for $25. USD |

Isn't there a gap between 4x the number of miniatures and 38x the amount of money needed? It goes into whatever the company decides to pour it into. Bear in mind, though, that from the get-go, they stated that $20 USDk- the original goal- was barely 1/10th of the startup cost of even the initial, very basic (compared to what we're getting now) game- and this was back in the days of the entire pledge total being in the mid four figures. Ultimately, as long as the people who pledge get everything they're promised, does it really matter whether the company sinks every extra penny into that project, or the next project, or into taking the entire production team on a well-deserved month long vacation in Aruba once the project ships? As someone who pledged a not-insubstantial sum? I say no- as long as they deliver what they've promised, they can drop the extra on hookers and blow, for all I care. :) - Monk |

Ah, I stand corrected. Missed that the promos mostly require Biohazard, sorry about the confusion. EDIT: I had a long post about how businesses work and how Kickstarter windfalls are not a gold mine, but Sumatran Rat Monkey types faster than I do, so – what he said. Although I've met McVey in years past, and hookers and blow are probably right out. :) |

Although I've met McVey in years past, and hookers and blow are probably right out. :) Haha- yeah, I think Ali might just have something to say about that, even if Mike were the type (which I, also, seriously doubt, not that I'd begrudge anyone living like a rockstar anyway, so long as their responsibilities were met). - Monk |

>Isn't there a gap between 4x the number of miniatures >and 38x the amount of money needed? Well, for the 38* more money they also do have to send out around 4000 instead of 200 copies of their game, and EACH one gets the quadruple minis – so to get your calculation right, the roughly 40* more money corrolate to 80* more minis. As a customer, you get quadruple minis for the same money (well, actually 20$ more), with more then a dozen of them being sold singularly for 10-25$ each, and some only coming with the game. Imho the best offer this year if you like SF miniatures. |

Looks like the Sedition Wars push took Kickstarter down for at least an hour. It made the zealots less than happy. Doubtful the final stretch is doable, but you never know. If I was still gaming in 28mm, I would do two sets without a second thought. Hey CPT Jake, my brother decided to back Sedition Wars and has been following it more than me. He was chatting at me this morning about some really nice inked versions of clear minis for the Optical Camo and asked if I had seen them. I told him not only had I seen then, but I knew the nice chap that painted them. Figured you would enjoy the fact he was impressed with your work. Jeff |

The only thing of interest for me was the terrain pack, and then only the non-gooey bits: doors, crates, and defense guns. Those I'll probably be picking up when they're released. |
CPT Jake | 30 Jun 2012 12:01 p.m. PST |
Jeff, I am honored, humbled, and amazed that folks like stuff I've painted. Those were easy to do, I like how they turned out, and if your brother wants any pointers on what I did, put him in contact with me. He'll be happy to know it is a simple process. |

I talked with the head of CMON tonight and he was very excited by the way things turned out and working on even more great stuff for next year. He is very appreciative of all of you guys that participated and hope you will be very happy when you giant boxes of stuff arrive in the mail later this year. He is less excited about the giant container trucks going to show up at his warehouse prior to shipping out your giant boxes of stuff. :) The great news is that the special software CMON invested in to track all the orders, pledges, extra items and addresses should prove a godsend when it's time to get things out to you. I must say that CMON is the master of how to run a Kickstarter. It's a deadly combination of knowing what gamers want, how much each and every aspect of the product cost to produce in advance (so as not to over promise as some have done), knowing where to get the game made, where to find such great partners for the projects (like the McVeys), planning the project and goals in advance of the launch and having the foresight to invest in the software and staff needed to get things out to the backers once things are ready to ship. Few companies can pull all of that together, but come late July/August when Zombicide boxes start arriving and then later when Sedition Wars comes in before the holidays, people will see what it means to have a kick ass Kickstarter launch. The first two of many . . . . . . . Well done guys. Jeff (Hey Jake, got to give credit where it's due!) |

J – where did your brother see the inks? also, looks like all the folks in the ATL area will have to get together and have a SW party when it comes out. Look to get some games in. |
JRacel | 30 Jun 2012 11:10 p.m. PST |
@ajbartman, I heard a little roomer today about a possible new miniatures and boardgames convention in the ATL, so we may all get a place to gather again every year. :) I do miss Warfair and Atlanta is in need of a convention other than just DragonCon. It might also be good to try and get some folks together, although it seems I never get to game much anymore. I did get in some Summoner Wars today, so it was a good day between Sedition wars and some actual gaming. Here is the link: link Jeff |
