Are the green leaf pattern tokens a Litco product? I searched the website but did not see them and for some reason the Bases section would not open.

"Green Leaf pattern tokens"? Am I correct in thinking you're refering to the surface that the figures are standing on?

If so it's not a Litko product. It's old Heroscape board pieces:

Frankly we are considering going to clear bases from now on. Reason: having troops mounted on grass or sand or other, then moving to the street looks ridiculous or, moving to a molten lava planet when the figures are mounted on grass equally so, or going from France in summer to Russia in winter.

With clear bases from Litko, we get around all the issues. Excellent product but the question is now, round, square, or cut our own by just buying a sheet from them and cutting as we need them.

As far as magnetic goes, we have never thought magnetic was helpful. Now… if someone would invent magnetic CLEAR bases.. well then.

But our thinking is if it wasn't in star trek it probably isnt going to be possible.

When I started inthe hobby there was some question of sheet magnet losing pull. So I base on steel and line my boxes with magnet. For pky bases I use Litko's FlexSteel base bottoms…

Turns out I'll be long dead by the time my magnets weaken!

I don't like the figures to stick together, so I use steel bases and have magnetic sheet in the carry box, as Extra Crispy says.

I've used both magnetising methods. I started with sheet magnet on bases and metal tool boxes and have since gone onto plastic "Really Useful Co" boxes lined with either sheet magnet of steel paper depending on which troops I am using. I find that individual figures work better with steel base bottoms on magnetic sheet lined boxes, whilst multi-figure bases work well with magnetic sheet on the bases and steel paper lined boxes.

I based my 28mm musketeer figures on home made clear bases 15 years ago because they would be on a variety of different terrain features. Currently using round clear bases from Sally 4th for individual skirmish figures where they might be inside or outside buildings.

Here, too.

I use magnets on the bases and flex steel in the trays. I started with magnetic bases inside of metal tool boxes. The trays are from Dave's Baggage Train (http://www.davesbaggagetrain.com).

For trees, I do the opposite: metal washers for both width and weight and magnetic sheets.
