What's different in Second Edition?

I'd like to know too! Best set of WW2 rules ever written IMO.

Questions for you guys:

Does the game require an umpire/referee?

How long does an average company size game take to play?

Understand that I am not the author and he would be the best person to respond completely, but in the Fireball Forward Yahoo Group, one of the gamers (saltpeanuts73) has posted the list of 2nd Edition changes. I have included these in the product descriptions in the webstore.

VSTA-- in most of the scenarios an Umpire is indeed needed. An average game takes about 2-3 hours to play, although there are many four turn scenarios that take less than two hours to run, and there are a number of big ones that'll take at least four.

I don't have either versions of the rules (yet), but have purchased both of the N. Africa scenario books, which are good stand-alone editions by themselves. The Fireball Forward website also has many downloads available – game aids, a 2-page rule's QRS, some sample scenarios I believe, etc….

These rules I'm giving a serious [re]consideration again, and the 2nd edition might just be the perfect reason to do so now.

(going to check out the Yahoo Group page too)

Just bought the pdf rules. The only thing I dislike is having to sign into the pdf with a password each time I want to read the rules. That will get old very quickly.

There is no need for an umpire. The back of the rules book lists the changes that are needed for using blinds instead of hidden units.

A card deck is also useful. Each side gets cards from 1 to 6 (I guess an ace or face card can count as a 1) to determine what random start item they receive.

Tried to buy the hardcopy rules. Won't let me as states cannot ship to US?

Problem solved by Lon. Able to order now.
