Once again, I'll be spending More money to be spent on Napoleonics.

Lancers were unusual as they could take their place in the battleline and fight it out with enemy cavalry or infantry, but they were most often used in scouting, raiding, and – especially in Spain and Russia – in skirmishing, even fighting dismounted where the situation arose.

Unlike, hussars, dragoons, light dragoons, Chassaurs and Chevaulegeres?

I always wanted to build a diorama of the river crossing scene from Major Dundee. The metal figures made it way too expensive. These guys seem to fit the bill. They will go on the things to buy list. Perry plastics on the American side.

This is great news! Metal lances on metal figures are always too damn vulnerable…

Will these figures work for 7th Line Lancers in Spain or will the helmets be wrong?

Navy Fower Wun Seven06 Feb 2016 12:15 a.m. PST

Unfortunately not – the 7th Line Lancers were formed from the 1st Vistula Lancers and retained their Polish uniforms, which would have included the Tchapka…certainly they were still wearing Polish rig at Albuera, 1811…

Am I wrong or the print on the box is not correct? Reversed lance pennant and red crest instead of black on the helmet? Was this a specific regiment?

Elite company of the 6th had red crest and white plume, and red epaulettes. Can't answer about the pennant, although I also think it's upside down. However, page 86 of Hourtoulle's Borodino – The Moskova shows white over red. You need von Winterfeldt to pop along and answer this :-)

Thanks for the response Navy417. Now I am turn between relieve and disappointment. Relieve that my wallet won't be hit with another purchase since all my Napoleonic skirmish games are set in the peninsular war and disappointment since they won't work as all my Napoleonic skirmish games are set in the peninsular war.

A division of lancers! Ohhhhhh that would be a beautiful thing, a squdron diorama at 1/1 scale……. The orange faced regiment

Private matter, buy them anyway, they look ff'fabulous……

The pennants are in fact, upside down on the box art. Woops. Unless of course they were the infamous "Reluctant Lancers"

Private Matter, you could swap heads if not too much a purist so these lancers would appear more Polish. Warlord has some options.
